    Air pollution influences our health in many ways. No air means death. Though we can't see it, there is air around us. Air is everywhere and it gives a life to every living things. But bad air makes people ill. In the city, there are a great many people and there are too many cars running on the road. The cars send out bad gases (气体). There are many factories too. From the chimneys (烟卤) of these factories, we get the smoke usually in black colour. Every day we breathe it in and out. This makes us feel sick. When people talk about air pollution, they are usually thinking about outdoor air pollution. But a lot of air pollution comes from indoor activities such as smoking and cooking. Indoor air pollution can hurt people's eyes, noses and throats. So air pollution, both indoor and outdoor, can also lead to lung cancer (肺癌) and heart disease.

    Everyone should help fight against pollution. In order to keep us healthy, we have to go out to the countryside to breathe more fresh air. Or we can climb up hills to get more fresh air.

What are some of the difficulties of being blind? Two hundred years ago, a little boy was born in France. He was Louis Braille, a happy and lovely baby.

Sadly, when he was three, something bad happened. While playing in his father's shop, Louis hurt his eyes on a sharp thing. Although he got the best care at that time, he was still completely blind and could not see all the lovely colours and beautiful things around him.

Louis was a kind boy. As he grew older, he wanted to help other blind people read. However, it was really hard for him. The first way he tried was to poke (戳) holes in paper and read by touching raised (凸起的) letters with his fingers. But it was too slow to read the letters and few blind people could do it well. After that, he tried many other ways.

One day, Louis heard about someone using dots to represent (代表) sounds. He immediately found its advantages and he spent three years improving upon this idea. Finally, he made a special alphabet and blind people could feel it with their fingers. Each letter was made with a number of dots and people could feel them by their fingers.

The alphabet that Louis made is called 'Braille'. Today many blind people use 'Braille' to help them to read. This is how the Braille Alphabet looks:

Once upon a time，there was a boy named Tim. He lived in a small 1 with nice mountains（山） and rivers. It was great to play there，2 Tim was always busy with his computer games and never noticed the beauty around him. 

Tim's grandfather was worried and always 3 about how great the nature（自然） was with him. "What clean and beautiful lake it is!"，his grandfather often said. One day，his grandfather asked Tim to go on a trip with him. Tim agreed，but he was not very 4 . 

As they walked in the village，Tim's grandfather pointed out many 5 things，such as colourful flowers with bright leaves，mother birds flying back homes with food to 6 their babies. They even climbed to the top of the hill so that they could see the sights 7 . His grandfather also told him some stories behind each place. Some of the stories were really funny and made Tim 8 all the time. Tim got to enjoy these beautiful things for the first time. 

At the end of the trip，Tim's grandfather told Tim not to 9 the small things in life，like a sunny day or a friendly smile. From that day on，Tim learned to enjoy every moment and be thankful. 

He thought that there was much more to life compared to 10 . Tim decided to spend more time outdoors and take short trips with his grandfather more often.
