I live in a small{#blank#}1{#/blank#} nice village. I love it because it's {#blank#}2{#/blank#}, and there are a lot of trees. My friends and I often play football {#blank#}3{#/blank#}the field near my house.{#blank#}4{#/blank#} , after it{#blank#}5{#/blank#}, the field is too wet to play on. We like to {#blank#}6{#/blank#} along the river. We can{#blank#}7{#/blank#} the flowers and listen to the birds. It is very {#blank#}8{#/blank#}. My village is a comfortable place to live in. It's never too old to make our dreams {#blank#}1{#/blank#}. My grandpa {#blank#}2{#/blank#} his dream at the age of 71. He set up a fruit shop online. He was always very happy because he tried his best {#blank#}3{#/blank#} what he wanted.

On a farm lived a father and a son. The father always got up early and read books by the stove. One morning， the son came up to him and said， "Dad， I read books at night but forget most of them the next morning. What's the good of reading？"

The father didn't reply right away. He passed him a basket that was used to carry coal. He said， "Get some water from the river with the basket and then I'll tell you the answer. "

The son felt surprised but he did as his father said. He tried many times but every time the water leaked （漏掉） from the basket. 

An hour later， the son came back with the empty basket and told his father he failed. The father said with a smile， "Yes， my son. The basket can't hold water. But did you notice the basket was different？" Just then the son found the basket wasn't dirty any more. The father continued， "Reading is like holding water with the basket. We can't hope to remember all we read， but we have changed while reading. "

My name is Paul and I am twelve years old. I live with my parents. We have a farm. The farm isn't big, but there is much work to do.

There are many kinds of animals on the farm. We have cows, horses, pigs, sheep, chickens and ducks. Some of them are small, like chickens and ducks, but some are big, like cows. Big cows have big brown eyes. They eat grass all day and make a sound(声音) like" moo". There are pigs, too. They are pink and round. Chickens are also on the farm. They lay eggs for us to eat. Ducks swim in the pond. I often give food to the small animals there.

We also grow(种植) many fruit and vegetables. There are eight apple trees on the farm. We also have tomatoes, potatoes and carrots. These fruit and vegetables are good for our health.
