GavinThomas, an 8-year-old American boy, is an online star in China. Chinese fans knowhim as "fake(假的) smile boy".

    Gavinfirst came to people's attention when he was only two years old. His uncle, NickMastodon, posted a few shot videos of him on Vine, a popular video-sharing sitein the US. In one of the videos, Nick put a gecko(壁虎) on Gavin's head. His nervous yet funny reaction soon won him a lotof fans online.

    Gavinis in primary school right now. "We take a lot of photos. My uncle Nick andI make videos together. My family thinks it is really cool for me to have many fansonline and my friends in class know that I make videos and take photos," Gavinsaid.

    On July12, 2018, Gavin opened an account (账户) on Sina Weibo. In less than four hours, he got more than 400 thousandfollowers. One day later, it reached 1 million. 4 months later, the number doubledagain.

    "Isaw Gavin's smiling photo about one year ago when one of my friends sent it to me.My friend was working on the weekends and used the photo tocomplain abouthis boss," said Tian Qian, a primary school teacher in Beijing. Gavin's smileexpressed her friend's feeling at that moment.

    "Welive in afast-paced(快节奏的) city and are under a lot of pressure. Gavin's smile makes us feel relaxed,"Tian said. I have been following him on Weibo and it's very enjoyable to watch hisvideos. We are happy that he is bringing joy to our lives."

Barry and Ann are twins(双胞胎), but they like different sports. Barry like soccer. He is in the school soccer club,and he plays soccer every day. He has nine soccer balls in his bookcase. He always likes volleyball. He has two white volleyballs and two blue volleyballs. But Ann doesn't like soccer or volleyball. She likes tennis. Tennis is interesting. She is in the school tennis club and she plays tennis every day. She has  seven tennis balls and two  tennis  rackets in her room. She also likes baseball. She has five baseballs—two green baseballs and three yellow baseballs.

Liu proves herself again

 Who is the best female(女性的) table tennis player in China? It is probably Liu Shiwen. Liu Shiwen was born on April 12, 1991 in Fushun, Liaoning. Her hobbies are watching US TV shows and learning English. Her best table tennis skill is backhand(反手击球) instead of forehand.

 On Oct 20th, Liu won her fifth singles title(单打冠军) at the Women's World Cup in Chengdu, Sichuan province. She is the first person in history to win so many titles at this event.

" It's very important for me," Liu said. "I won four titles before when I was much younger. I had no fear at all."

 At 28 years old, Liu is now under greater pressure. She won the world championship(世界锦标赛), but then lost several tour matches (巡回赛). She needed to prove herself once again. She was able to do so in the end. Her secret was to not think about her losses."I just played the game like it was the world championships or even the Olympics," Liu said.

Have you ever imagined being able to communicate with your pets at home and have them understand everything you say？It sounds too good to be true，but scientists have started using AIto help communicate with animals. 

Professor Bake told Scientific Magazine that AI allows humans to use technology to watch and understand the sounds and signals animals communicate with so we humans can try to speak back to them. She said trying to communicate in animals' language could be better than teaching them how to use human sign language. AI is already helping us communicate with bats and bees. This could change what we know about these animals and our relationships with them. 

Professor Bake explained how Scientist Tovel had used recordings and AI to understand bats. "Bats have their own language. They often argue over food. They have different names，or 'signature calls'，" she said，mother bats lower their voice when speaking to their babies. Their voice can never be heard with human ears. But AI makes this possible because a computer can be trained to listen like a bat. "

Actually，AI has so far achieved a lot in this field. For example，the computer not only listens but also watches bees' body movement to understand what they are communicating. Bake said scientists now know how bees say things such as "be quiet" or "stop". Scientist Landlof even created a robot Honeybee that entered a bee's home and was able to communicate with other bees when it wanted them to stop doing something or fly. 

Dale is a middle school student. His father has 1 black car, so his father usually 2 him to school. Dale's best friend Ben goes to school by bike, 3 he thinks it is good for 4 health. Ben wants Dale to ride a bike with 5 . And Dale thinks Ben is right.

After he gets home, Dale says to his mother, "Mom, I would like 6 a bike. Would you please buy one 7 me?"

His mother smiles and asks, "8 do you want to ride a bike to school?"

"First, it's good for my health. Second, there 9 a lot of cars and buses on the road, so it is faster(更快) to ride a bike to school." Dale says.

"OK. Let's 10 to the supermarket and choose(挑选) one. But you must be careful to ride a bike on the way to school." says Dale's mother.
