My friend, James, has a dream, he hopes that one day he can have a trip to the  {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(宇宙) because he wants to know what the space is like. He wants to be an  {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(宇航员). He wants to know the feeling of staying in an  {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(环境) with no air. But he knows it is not an easy thing, after  {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(交流) with his father, he finds he has lots of things to do. He needs not only a good knowledge about space but also a  {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(强壮的) body. Now, he has a plan to realise his dream. First of all, in order to know more about space, he will join a science  {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(群; 组). Then, he will make a  {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(运动) plan. He has  {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (从不) been very active and he doesn't like playing at all. But this time he  {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(决定) to change himself. He believes that nothing is  {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(不可能的) if he tries his best.

Dora and Annie were called to the teacher's office for breaking the glass apple on Mrs.Marley's desk.They sat opposite Mr.Barlow and they looked quite nervous.

"Would either of you like to explain what happened？"Mr.Barlow asked.

Dora took a deep breath，"I was looking at Mrs.Marley's glass apple.The sun was shining on it，and it made a rainbow on the desk.I thought the rainbow would get bigger if we moved the apple."

"So you moved it？"Mr.Barlow asked.

Dora pointed at Annie. "She did it，but the rainbow got smaller.I tried to get the apple back，but it fell on the floor and broke."

"Thank you，Dora.Annie，tell me what happened in your own words

"Dora said she wanted to make the rainbow bigger，so I told her how my sister used a sun catcher to make a rainbow on the ceiling.I tried to show her that，but she said the rainbow was getting smaller and she could do it better.She tried to take it

"It was not!" Dora cried angrily.

Mr.Barlow stood up."Do you want to know what I think？" "Yes!" They said.

"I think Dora wanted to make the rainbow bigger and Annie tried to help." "Exactly!" Annie said.

"Not so fast，"Mr.Barlow said. "Annie，you thought you could make the rainbow better，and the apple fell and broke.Does that sound right？"

"So，we're both to blame，"Dora said.

"Yes.The real blame isn't in who broke the apple，"Mr.Barlow said. "It was in the fact that you both touched something that didn't belong to you."

"I guess we did，"Annie said.

"We should say sorry to Mrs.Marley，"Dora added.

"I think you both learned a valuable lesson，"Mrs.Marley said，smiling in the doorway.

Jim has a nice farm. On the farm, he has many kinds of plants and animals. Look at the big trees. They are apple trees. Under the trees, there are some tomato plants and potato plants. The grass is green. You can see sheep, pigs, ducks, horses and chickens on the grass. Look at the black and white sheep. It is Jim's sister's. And the white horse is Jim's brother's. How many pigs can you see? Five? No, there is another pig behind the tree.

There were many famous inventors and scientists in history. You must have heard about a lot of them and known them well. But you may not know Nikola Tesla. 

Nikola Tesla and his inventions were well- known to people in the area of science and electricity, but not quite known to the general public today. Nikola Tesla was a Serbian- born inventor, who later moved to the US. He was most well- known for his inventions in the area of electricity and electrical engineering. He was considered one of the greatest electrical engineers in history. 

Why was Nikola Tesla not well- known while others in his time became so famous to the public? Some said Nikola Tesla failed to make the right business decisions. Others said it was because of his "mad scientist" qualities (特质) — the same qualities that helped him come up with some of his best ideas. His qualities led him to many strange ideas. Towards his last years, he came up with many ideas that seemed unacceptable to the public at that time. He worked very hard on them, which made people think he was mad. 

Many of Tesla's inventions and patents (专利) didn't end up being used in the exact way he had planned for them. Some of those include his high- frequency lighting ideas, wireless power and the free energy receiver.

To be honest, I didn't like my dad. My favourite {#blank#}1{#/blank#} instrument is the guitar. I used to play it for two hours after school. However, Dad asked me to finish homework and study for my {#blank#}2{#/blank#} as soon as I came home. I wanted to do {#blank#}3{#/blank#} work for the people in need. But Dad said, "It's not important for a student to do that. You shouldconsider how to improve your marks{#blank#}4{#/blank#} of paying attention to other things. " That was his thought, and also his {#blank#}5{#/blank#}   word. I really disagree with him but I don't know what should I do. 

From my second grade on, there was one thing I was afraid of every year: the piano recital(音乐演奏会). A recital 1  I had to practise a boring piece of music and play before strangers. Each year I 2  ask my father if I could run away from the recital" just once". And each year he would shake his head, saying 3  about building self-confidence and working towards a goal. 

So it was really great when I stood in church one recent Sunday with a camera in hand, and 4  my 68-year-old father sweating(流汗) in his shirt before rising to play the piano in 5  very first recital. 

My father had expected to play music since childhood but his family was poor and couldn't 6  lessons. He could have been regretting it, 7  too many of us do. But even if he was always thinking about his past, he wasn't stuck there. When he retired three years ago, he 8  his church music teacher to take him as a student. 

For a moment after my father sat down at the keyboard, he just looked down at his 9 . Has he forgotten the notes? I worried, remembering those special seconds many years ago when my mind would go blank and my fingers would become 10 . But then came the beautiful melody(旋律), from the 11  fingers that once repaired my fishing lines. And I learned he had been doing what his 12  teacher always told him: Only 13  the music and imagine the others aren't there. 

"I'm 14  of him for starting something new at his age, "I said to my son Jeff excitedly. 

"Yeah, and doing it so 15 , " Jeff added. We all smiled.
