"Our teas can help protect your teeth and your heart, possibly even helping to prevent cancer," said Luo Shengkai, one of four student hosts from Sichuan University High School. They 1 introduced three self-made health teas through a livestream (直播) on Douyin 2 March 27, 2022, and they 3 for several weeks by now. The livestream got over 60 4 likes and many online orders, with all profits (收入) going to local tea farmers.

"It's 5 first time we have sold tea online. We not only need to introduce 6 tea, but we also need to interact with the audience and answer their questions," said Luo. "We've learned a lot from the process, 7 it's tiring."

Luo is one of a group of students 8 take part in a two-year course on tea research. They learn about tea planting and picking, tea making, package design and marketing through research and fieldwork.

However, 9 a new and popular tea isn't easy. Luo and his team members 10 a tea to better protect students' eyesight. They first met with a professional from Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and researched the properties (特性) of local tea. Then they learned 11 functions of ingredients such as goji berries (枸杞), mangosteen (山竹果) and cassia seed (决明子) and did experiments to find what would happen if they 12 all together. They ended up with a cassia seed tea and then added 13 ingredients based on people's feedback.

"Through the tea course, students 14 learn how to be creative and improve their hands-on skills. They also learn to respect tea workers and how to contribute to rural vitalization (乡村振兴). That's 15 our educational means." said Mi Yunlin, the principal of the school.

Jack is a runner of the city track- and- field (田径运动) team in New York. He 1 much harder than others. He hopes to be a great Chinese sprinter (短跑运动员) 2 Su Bingtian. People called Su the "Chinese flying man"3 he finished running 100 metres in 9.83 seconds at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. 

"Dad, is there any great sprinter in 4 country?" Jack asked his dad one day. Then he 5 knew about the story of Wilma Rudolph(1940—1994). She6 three medals in track- and- field games in the 1960 Rome Olympic Games. People 7 her the"fastest woman in the world" at her time. 

At the age of 4, Wilma Rudolph couldn't use her left 8 because she got polio (小儿麻痹症). "We are so sorry, but your girl may not walk again," the 9 told her parents. At first, the family was very 10 . But very soon they decided to do something to change for the 11 .

Every day her mother took her to do some12 with the doctors' help. Wilma's feet 13 a lot but she kept doing it. Her brothers and sisters loved her and helped her. They gave her legs a massage (按摩) every day. Amazingly (惊人地), when Wilma was 9, she was 14 walk again and became very healthy. Later, she started playing basketball and running.15 , Wilma became a sprinter and went to the 1960 Rome Olympic Games. 

After listening to Wilma's story, Jack decided to train much harder than before. 

He was an old man who fished alone in a boat and he had gone eighty-four days now without taking a fish. In the first forty days a boy had been with him. But after forty days without a fish, the boy's parents had told him that the old man was now salao, which is the worst form of unlucky, and the boy had gone at their orders in another boat which caught three good fish the first week.

It made the boy sad to see the old man come in each day with his boat empty and he always went down to help him carry fishing tools.

The old man was thin with deep wrinkles（皱纹） in the back of his neck. His hands had the deep scars（伤疤） from dealing with heavy fish. But none of these scars were fresh.

Everything about him was old except his eyes and they were the same color as the sea and were cheerful and full of confidence.

"Santiago", the boy said to him as they climbed from the bank where the boat was pulled up. "I could go with you again. We've made some money."

"No," the old man said. "You' re with a lucky boat. Stay with them."

"But remember how you went eighty-seven days without a fish and then we caught big ones every day for three weeks."

"I remember," the old man said. "I know you did not leave me willingly."

"It was papa who made me leave. I am a boy and I must do what he told me to."

"I know. I quite understand that."

"He hasn't much faith （信念）."

"No," the old man said. "But we have. Haven't we?"

"Yes," the boy said. "Can I offer you a beer on the Terrace and then we'll take the fishing tools home?"

"Why not?" the old man said. "Between fishermen."

They sat on the Terrace. Many fishermen made fun of the old man and he was not angry. Some other older fishermen looked at him and were sad. But they didn't show it and they spoke politely about the sea, the weather and of what they had seen.

 That year, I was a Junior 2 student. Falling off the stairs hurt me in the head. Almost every- one thought I 1 be dead. But they were wrong. 2 , it was difficult to get back to normal life. I had to leave school and learn everything— walking, talking, and yes, math. 

 To help me, Mrs. Pillar 3 to come to the hospital and later to my house once a week. We began with basic math skills. As time passed by, I made progress. 

I remember very clearly4 she came to my home on Sundays, sat with me at the kitchen table and threw different coins on the table. She asked me to show her 38 cents, 17 cents, 63 cents. It was 5 , but she also made it fun. 

 After a year and a half, I had progressed a lot, both in body and mind, 6 to school. Seven years later, I graduated(毕业) from the University of Texas at the top of my class. 

 As years went by, I7 kept in touch with(与……联系) Mrs. Pillar. Unluckily, one day I was8 that Mrs. Pillar had been in hospital because she suffered a stroke(中风). 

 Now it was my9 to help her. Mrs. Pillar lay in bed, unable to speak or know anybody around. I pulled some coins out of my pocket, dropped 10 on the bed, and asked her to show me 12 cents. The nurse thought that my action was very strange 11 one day Mrs. Pillar smiled happily as I began working with her— just as she had worked with me years before. She made progress every day and was moved out of ICU and12 out of hospital. 

One day, I called to wish her a happy New Year. She spoke 13 the phone excitedly, "Happy New Year to you and your family, Michael. Thank you for 14 you' ve done for me. "I quickly said, "Thank you for everything you' ve done for me, too. "

 Mrs. Pillar was one of my Junior 2 teachers, but she taught me so much more about life than only math:15 really makes wonders.
