New rules and behaviour standards(行为规范) for middle school students came out in March. Middle schools are going to use a new way to decide who the top students are. The best students won't only have high grades. The following are some of the new rules.

    Tell the truth. Have you ever cheated(作弊) in an exam? Don't do it again! That's not something honest students should do.

    Do more at school. Good students love animals and care for other people. April is Bird loving Month in China．Is your school doing anything to celebrate it? You should join! In that way，you can learn more about animals and how to protect them.

    Be open to new ideas. Have you ever thought people could live on the moon? Maybe you'll find another earth in space in the future. Everyone's new ideas are important.

    Protect yourself. Has a thief ever taken money from one of your classmates? Don't let it happen to you. If you have to go back home late, you should let your parents know.

    Use the Internet carefully. The Internet can be very useful for your study. But some things on the Internet aren't for kids, so try to look at the good web pages. You can use the web pages for fun or homework.

    Tom Smith was a writer. He wrote detective ( 侦探) stories for magazines. One evening he could not find an end for a story. He sat with his pen in front of him, {#blank#}1{#/blank#}. So he decided to go to the cinema.

How to make friends at a new school

Starting with a new school can be difficult. Everything seems to be different, and you don't even know where to go for your own classes. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}However, if you follow the advice, you can quickly turn some of those strangers into friends. 

Be yourself.

 Robots often appear in books and films. Usually, they can think, listen, talk and walk easily on two legs, just like humans.

 Although real robots are becoming more and more complex (复杂的) , they are still not like fictional (科幻的) robots. In life, robots come in different shapes and sizes. They can be tall, short, thin or fat. Some robots have long legs and are able to walk. Others move on wheels. They can be very simple or they can be very complex.

 Many robots look like humans, and some of them can even speak. But in fact, they are different from us in lots of ways. They cannot see, hear or think by themselves. They cannot laugh or cry because they have no feelings. Someone has to build them and decide what things they will be able to do.

Robots make our life easier. They don't mind doing dirty or difficult jobs, and can work for long hours without getting tired or bored. Some robots work in very dangerous places--under the sea or in space.

 Scientists are making better robots all the time. One day every home will probably have its own robots to tidy bedrooms, do the dishes or do other things. Do you believe so?
