Last Saturday, I borrowed a camera from my friend Lisa. However, I was so excited that I dropped it on the floor by mistake and it was broken. Oh no! It was the birthday gift from her grandmother. I was worried that she would be a{#blank#}1{#/blank#} with me, so I didn't tell her the t{#blank#}2{#/blank#} at last. But one day, she told me she had already known that, and she said it would be all right. I felt so a{#blank#}3{#/blank#} that I could hardly say a word. At that moment, I really r{#blank#}4{#/blank#} not saying sorry to her in time. I treated her with dishonesty, but she wasn't mad at me. I{#blank#}5{#/blank#}, she smiled and gave me a hug. Since then, I have learned an important lesson: Honesty is valued. So I just keep it in my mind and it's surprising that I have a closer relationship with Lisa than before.

For Bird Week at school, I spent several days studying pigeons. They gave me a lot of{#blank#}1{#/blank#}(意想不到的事). On the first day, I got my task—I had to write about pigeons! So on the second day, I started to watch pigeons in the park. They just {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(闲逛) around for the whole morning! At last, they left {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(粪) everywhere. Through a day of observation(观察), I thought pigeons were {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(无聊的) and dirty! By the way, I noticed that some pigeons flew {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(发狂地) to a girl when she fed them. How {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(可怕的) they were!

On the third day, I did some {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(研究) at home on my computer. I found that pigeons could even {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(认出) themselves in {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(镜子). How {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(令人惊奇的)! I couldn't wait to know more about them!

I will never forget my first English class. It is very interesting. It's the first class in the morning. The teacher goes into the classroom with a smile on his face. At the beginning，he makes a self-introduction（自我介绍）. And he tells us that his English name is John. Then he asks all of us to think of English names for ourselves. We are very excited to find a good name. Then he asks us to write our names down on a piece of paper. I think about my English name for a long time. Then I come up with（想出）a beautiful name — Shirley.

All the students write their names down and give the paper to the teacher. When the teacher calls "Shirley" to answer his question, three girls stand up at the same time.

Two Canadian teenagers, Faiz and Leo, have been taking on a series of wonderful challenges. Their most recent achievement was following the Lake Ontario coastline for 73 kilometers, walking from Toronto to Hamilton, Canada, in about 18 hours.

"We enjoy trying new things that are good for our bodies and minds. We like to overcome challenges like these. And we feel going on a long walk seems to be the purest form of challenge that you can have," Leo said.

With very little preparation, the two 16-year-olds began their journey at 6 am, starting in darkness and finishing before midnight. They took several breaks, stopping at benches with nice views along the way.

On their walk, one of the interesting things they came across was a cargo ship (货船) which was no longer used. "You' d be surprised by the things that you don't see when you' re driving and that you will see when you' re taking your time walking," said Leo.

However, the journey was not only a trial (考验) for bodies but also an important test of minds. There were moments of loneliness for the pair, requiring them to support each other along the way.

Around 70 km into the walk, they ran into a person on a bridge who appeared to be experiencing something painful.

"I wasn't sure what was going to happen me and Leo, we tried to talk him out of it and ended up calling the police, and the situation was eased and everyone was OK," Faiz said.

The walk is now long over but Faiz and Leo are not done challenging themselves, with plans to start a two-day 100 km walk in the near future.

Angel and Pat are sisters. They were born on the same dry. Angel is twelve years old and Pat is eight years old. There {#blank#}1{#/blank#} a supermarket near their house. They often go shopping there. They like {#blank#}2{#/blank#}food. Pat likes salty (咸的). Angel likes sweet food.  Today is their birthday. Their parents want to give them a meal {#blank#}3{#/blank#}their birthday. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} here is the problem. The two {#blank#}5{#/blank#} like different food. Pat would like to eat salty fish. Angel {#blank#}6{#/blank#}to eat a cake. Pat asks her mother {#blank#}7{#/blank#}they can't get both things. "Because they are expensive and {#blank#}8{#/blank#}don't have enough money. "their mother says. After hearing this, Angel tells her mother to buy the {#blank#}9{#/blank#}. Their parents are happy about that. Pat thanks her sister {#blank#}10{#/blank#}. Then they take a bus to the shop.
