Some problems are difficult to solve in our life. However, there are a lot of number expressions (表达) that can help. Today, I will talk about expressions about numbers.

Sometimes we can "kill two birds with one stone". That is to say, we can complete two goals with only one effort or action. But we must remember that "two wrongs don't make a right". If someone does something bad to you, you should not do the same to him.

When I was a young child in school, I liked learning Maths. My teacher used to "give me three cheers" when I did well in Maths, praising (赞扬) my hard work and good grades.

When I was in high school, some of my friends once had trouble doing their schoolwork. In fact, they did not care if they could finish high school. But it seemed that they really got a surprise when they completed their studies and graduated from high school. They were on cloud nine.

Nine times out of ten, students who do well in school often find good jobs. Some people work in an office doing the same things every day at nine-to-five jobs. However, it's good to know happiness at work isn't just about money.

I saved the rice and wheat carefully and finally had enough to plant. I built a wall around my garden to keep the wild goats away. 

Then when my crop(庄稼) bore its fruit, the birds discovered it. The birds were not afraid of my dog at all. I shot them, but as soon as I walked away, they returned. At last, I killed some birds and hung them among the crop, hoping they would serve as the scarecrows(稻草人), which turned out to be successful. By harvest time, I had nearly two bushels of rice and two and a half bushels of wheat. 

With my new rice and wheat to store, I found a new problem. The fine rice and wheat ran through my baskets. It took me nearly two months to form and dry two ugly bowls — one for rice and one for wheat. 

Next I made some tools from hard wood and cloth to make bread. I made bread with my tools. I spent the third year on the island in farming and making bread. 

Soon after that, I began to think of my days sailing in a tidy boat with Xury. I wished to have a boat and explore(探索) the island by sea. 

I tried to turn over the ship's boat that I had seen washed up, but failed. I was still determined(坚定的) to have a boat. So I chose a strong tree and spent weeks cutting it down. Then it took me months to turn the tree into a boat. 

When it was time to sail, I realised I had made my boat too far from the nearest river. The boat was far too heavy for me to move. I tried bringing the water to the boat instead of the boat to the water. I soon saw it would take me twenty years of work. 

I celebrated my fourth year on the island with two boats, but I was no closer to a sea journey.

Qian Xuesen was a pioneer in the development of China＇s aerospace（航空航天）science and technology. He was called the "father of China's aerospace" and "king of rockets". He was also one of the most famous {#blank#}1{#/blank#}, (scientist) in the world.

After returning to China, Qian led his team to overcome a series of difficulties and achieved many historic achievements. Qian worked with{#blank#}6{#/blank#}(thousand) of other scientists on China's "two bombs，one star＂ nuclear program（"两弹一星"核项目）. They created the atom bomb（原子弹）and later the hydrogen bomb（氢弹）{#blank#}7{#/blank#}（success）. They managed to complete this project in the fastest time in history. 

Qian devoted{#blank#}8{#/blank#}(he) whole life to China's aerospace industry. He wanted to use his knowledge {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(build) a stronger China. He often says that science {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(have) no boundaries（边界），but scientists have their motherlands. 

Do you like eating out? Well, eating out in Guangzhou is fantastic. Guangzhou has a number of really good restaurants, such as The Magic Steak(牛排), Fish House and Funny Kitchen. Many people think the best one is The Magic Steak. It's the best because it has the thickest steaks, the freshest salads and the best French fries. You need to get there before 7 p.m. to get a table, because it gets crowded after that. Of course, you can book(预订) a table in advance. And you can do that online or by phone.

If you want something cheaper, you can go to Fish House. It's better than many other restaurants, and it's really great for people who like fish. It has the best service in Guangzhou. And it's easier to get a table there than at The Magic Steak. But The Magic Steak is more convenient(便利的), because it's closer to the center of the city than Fish House. In that case, if you plan to go shopping, eating in The Magic Steak is your best choice.

Funny Kitchen, a fast food restaurant, is popular with teenagers, but elder people might like other restaurants. In fact, the food there is the worst in Guangzhou.

Ashley was honest, fashionable, and the"Queen Bee" in my school. 

I looked up to her and idolised(崇拜) her. I listened to the music she listened to, and wore the clothes she wore. I even took art class though I had really wanted to take theatre. I finally fitted in 1 group. 

 One day, I got out of my last class a few minutes early to 2 seats for our group at the dining hall. Paying all attention to my homework, I didn't notice they had sat down behind me. Before I could say a word, I3 realised what they were    3   .
