    Adventure advice: You can dive at Spaded, but you can't sleep there. The island is a protected park, but you can stay on one of the nearby islands.

Do you often see ants? If the weather is warm, you may see them under the stones. If it is cold, many ants will be in their house under the ground.

Most of the ants are workers. They have lots of work to do. They look for food and take care of the young ants. Each family of ants has a queen ant. The queen doesn't work at all. She is important because she lays eggs. These eggs will become new ants.

There are many kinds of ants in America. One kind of these is very strong. They can kill and eat elephants. They move in groups. They eat all the animals they meet while moving on their way. When these ants come near, people leave their homes.

The kiwi is a kind of bird. They live only in New Zealand.

They're very famous, just like the koalas in Australia.They look a little like chickens, but they have no wings(翅膀) or tails(尾巴). They can't fly. If you want to see the kiwi,go to the Kiwi House and Native Bird Park.

I would never forget what Daniel did for me in the last year we were in school. Daniel was my classmate and my good friend. I was1 and did poorly in sports. None of my classmates would2 me to be on their team when we played games, except Daniel. He always 3 me and made sure I was not left out.

Unlike me, Daniel was good at 4 . In the annual (年度的) cross country race, I was among the last few students to complete it. But Daniel could finish the race in the 5 five.

"Are you trying to win the first place?" I asked Daniel 6 we started our final race. "The others are saying that you're surely one of the runners 7 the gold medal this year."

"Ah, this is the last time we can run as classmates in the race. Let's just 8 and finish the race together, OK?" Daniel smiled.

The race began soon. I followed Daniel9 in the first half. In the second half, however, I became10 and started to slow down. The other runners overtook (超越) me. It seemed that I could never 11 the finishing line.

"You're doing well! It's the last five hundred metres! You can do it!" came Daniel's 12 . He was still two or three metres in front of me, keeping running forward.

Strangely, I found the13 to dash (猛冲) through the last 500 metres and crossed the finishing line14 with Daniel. It took me quite a few moments to calm and 15 what Daniel did for me. What a wonderful friend he was!

I'm Tony. I'm an English boy, but now I'm in Wuhan. My parents came to Wuhan for work. So I came here with them. 

I like Chinese very much. It's my favourite subject, so I always ask my Chinese classmates for help. And I help them with their English. In my free time, I like watching TV and practising Chinese from it. After eight months, I can speak Chinese very well. 

I'm good at science, too. I think it's very interesting and useful. But I'm not good at maths. I don't know much about maths. Maths lessons are not easy for me. I want to thank my Chinese classmates. They always help me with it. 

At weekends, I like to play with my Chinese classmates. I know many things about China from them. And I made many Chinese friends. We always have a good time!
