"Are you OK?"Mom came quickly. I had a feeling that she would be unhappy, but she didn't. Grandpa said, "Never mind, Mike. Something unexpected often happens."

"Now go out of the kitchen,"Mom said."I'll make a special {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (黄油) hamburger, and it doesn't need apples."

Grandpa and I went out, but I felt sad. He {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (倾倒) some water and {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (增加) some honey to it. I drank it. {#blank#}11{#/blank#} (最后),he cut a {#blank#}12{#/blank#} (西瓜) for me. We enjoyed the food together. About an hour later, Dad came back. Mom called us in for {#blank#}13{#/blank#}(庆祝)Thanksgiving. She {#blank#}14{#/blank#}(准备) a good dinner. We ate a lot of {#blank#}15{#/blank#} (传统的) food like turkeys.

Jessica Long is a very fast Paralympic (残奥会的) swimmer. She was born in Russia 1 a disability (残疾). This was difficult for her mother and Jessica 2 in a special home for children. 

When Jessica was thirteen months old, 3 American couple, Steve and Beth Long, 4 this home. They adopted (收养) her and took her to the USA with 5 . Jessica had a new mom and dad.

At fourteen, Jessica went to the World Swimming Championships in South Africa. She won nine more gold medals and she broke five world records!

Jessica likes other 14 , too. She enjoys 15 and, at fourteen, she started rock climbing. Jessica Long is really amazing.

My favourite food

" It's time for Field Day again," thought Chloe as she started the last week of school. Chloe was not looking forward to it." Why does everybody think it a big day?" Chloe asked her 1 ." Well, it should be a fun day and a day to 2 ," said Chloe's mom." I'm not good at any of those games that are played, and I'm afraid the kids are going to 3 me. Maybe I can stay at home and 4 Field Day," said Chloe.

 Mary was Chloe's closest friend, and they walked to school every day." Aren't you 5 Field Day?" Mary asked Chloe." No, I don't care about such a boring day. No one ever picks me for their team 6 I'm not good at those games," answered Chloe7 .

Mary felt bad and she told her mom how unexcited Chloe was and 8 what she could do to cheer her friend up." Maybe you can get in a game that you know Chloe is good at," Mary's mom 9 . Mary thought for a moment and said that she knew Chloe was really good at the game horseshoes. She was also good at the water balloon toss too.

Field Day finally arrived. Mary came by Chloe's house for10 daily walk to school Chloe was very 11 on the way to school. Mary noticed that and said," I hear they are going to have horseshoes this year and also a water balloon game."" Really? I 12 horseshoes, and I am pretty good at catching those water balloons without breaking them." said Chloe.13 , Chloe got excited about going to school and starting Field Day.

The games began, and Chloe had the 14 Field Day ever! Thanks to Mary, Chloe's team won the first place in the water balloon toss and she got a ribbon (绶带) for the second place in horseshoes." What a great day!" Chloe said to Mary. With Mary's15 , Chloe is now looking forward to Field Day next year!

This summer I took a trip.I travelled from Beijing to Wuzhen 1 is a nice village in Zhejiang Province.It was a unique and beautiful water country with stone bridges and flowing water, all like fairy tales to 2 .

However, 3 impressed me most was not the natural scenery 4 the scene of a grandma bathing a little baby in a wooden basin with the door open.My friends couldn't help 5 pictures of it.

6 my surprise, the grandma smiled and waved at us.All of a sudden, my heart was filled with 7 .

I shared the photo and my 8 experience with my friends.They were 9 moved as I was,but at the same time they reminded me 10 the unpleasant experiences in big cities.We feel embarrassed to see people 11 in public because they are stepped on accidentally by strangers.

According to a survey which 12 last year, 45 per cent of the residents don't know 13 names of their neighbours; 63 per cent have never devoted themselves to talking to their neighbours; 67 per cent think that the relationship between them and their neighbours 14 just so-so, or even bad.
