Zhang Yuxuan has plenty {#blank#}4{#/blank#} followers on the Chinese video platform Bilibili. From a young age, the 15-year-old enjoyed listening to songs of different singers to get {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(relax).

Zhang's music path widened when she began to compose in 

2019."I wrote the first original song in 8th grade and it was produced in school. At that time, I made {#blank#}6{#/blank#} effort to write some of my feelings in the notebook in my free time. It was a very interesting experience."

In her opinion, music theory and musical instruments are not very related to the ability {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(write) songs."Composing is when a melody(旋律) pops into your head, you hum(哼) it out and record it. She was done like this when I was in school and it was inspired by Anne Hathaway's role in the movie The Devil Wears Prada."

Zhang started shooting videos by {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(her) in 2019. Some videos on Bilibili showed songs she composed, and some focused on {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(use)objects to create songs.

The music hobby hasn't affected Zhang's studies at school. She said study was also her hobby. She also told us that writing down {#blank#}10{#/blank#} we think and see in English is a good way of learning English. Zhang's story proves that age is no barrier to success.

I was living in a house with a long history in Halifax, Nova Scotia five years ago. One day, one of my friends from the West Coast came to visit me. He was 1 for three weeks so he brought a lot of bags and suitcases, and other things like a 2  . I told him that he could sleep on the bed in the front living room.

One morning after a late night of drinking, my friend ran into my room, shouting, "FIRE! FIRE!"Without 3  , I jumped out of bed. The floor was 4  against my feet as I ran out into the hallway, right behind my friend. I couldn't see the fire anywhere, 5  as we ran towards the front door, I could hear the 6  making a loud noise all around me. It was inside the 7  . We ran out into the front yard and 8  at the house, seeing black smoke coming out of the 9  house.

After winning the first prize at the ASICS Tennis Junior Tour in Guangzhou in late August, 2022, Wang Fa quickly became popular online. Wang was known for carrying his tennis rackets in a bamboo basket, making him get the name of "basket tennis boy".

The boy, Wang Fa, 14, is a member of the Va ethnic group（佤族） from Yunnan. "We always carry bamboo baskets when we work on the farm. This is a typical farming tool（具有代表性的农具） of the Va ethnic group. I carried my rackets this way to honor（致敬） my hometown," Wang said.

Before playing tennis, Wang was just a common boy from a village. But in 2016, he was chosen by a club as one of the first 10 children to learn to play tennis. Over the past six years, Wang has practiced hard along with other players. The children would get up at 6:30 A．m. and practice for more than six hours a day. Every day, they needed to swing a racket more than 7,000 times and run 9 kilometers.

Wang's parents didn't want him to learn tennis at first. They thought it was too expensive. But the tennis club said they would teach him for free. Wang's hometown was just lifted out of poverty （脱贫） in 2019.

For Wang, winning the competition was the beginning of a hopeful future. "I will go for the top places in the tennis world," he said.

My name is Evelyn Glennie. I am a solo(独奏的) drum player. Here I'd like to talk 1 my story. When I was about 12, I 2 interested in percussion instruments(打击乐器) and began to play them. At that time I lost all of my hearing. I remember when I learned 3 the tympani (定音鼓), my teacher said," Well, you know, mu- sic is about listening. How are you going to hear the sound?"I asked," Well, how do you hear it?" He pointed to 4 ear and said,"I hear it through here." Then I told him,"I think I do, too, 5 I also hear it through my hands, my arms, my eyes, my legs and so on."I mean that I 6 feel the music, see it and touch it. That's why I can experience every kind of music, from classical to pop, even though I can't actually hear it.

Now I 7 ' invited to travel around the world for concerts. I like to go to other people's concerts in different countries. I also like to find new instruments. Now I have 8 instruments. They often remind (提醒) me of how excited I was when I first saw local musicians playing them. These experience was such 9 beautiful memory to me. And10 thing is that every time I play instruments, I really enjoy my time with music.

When Zeki Basan was 16, he lived in a tent for almost a year on the island of Skye in Scotland. It can seem unusual for someone to live like that, especially if you are a teenager, but it wasn't for him. He was on a course at the School of Adventure Studies, and thought it was good to learn how to live away from the city while he was studying. The fact that some of his best memories were of growing up in the mountains in the Highlands with his mother and sister probably helped him make this decision. They used to live far away from any towns and even had to use cross-country skis(滑雪板) to take food there every winter.

Zeki experienced a few difficult situations while he was learning how to live alone in the tent. Once he was in the mountains when the weather got really bad while he was hiking. It was impossible to see very far in front of him, but he knew to stay calm and not panic (恐慌). That ability was also really useful when he was on a camping trip with his classmates and the weather was terrible. Some people were extremely tired and anxious and had to leave, but it wasn't a problem for him.

Zeki doesn't live in a tent anymore, but would like to see more people living the way that he did, so close to nature, for a short period of time. He says:"People don't really know their environment... they don't tend to explore it. But to really know your own environment... is quite an incredible thing." He feels that if people connect more with nature, they will understand and enjoy it. Zeki continues to enjoy the outdoors and to use his skills in his life now as a young adult - he works in Iceland as a guide, and in Scotland as a survival(生存) skills instructor.
