My mom used to say that my first words were： "I'll do it myself. "

Maybe it was because I was an only child and she spent hours1 teaching me to entertain myself. My mother called my stubbornness（固执） "independence". 

At 12，I made a carpool（拼车）schedule with other students' moms and made a six﹣year plan to attend university. While my parents' friends were telling their 2 to finish their homework，mine didn't care whether I'd do the right thing. They 3 thought I would. 

I wanted everyone to think I was perfect. The truth is that while I tried to look 4 ，I felt like phony（骗子）. 

As life became more complex（复杂的），perfection became 5 to achieve. I panicked（恐慌），pushed myself harder. 

Simple tasks felt almost impossible. I 6 playing sports and canceled plans with friends.

So I tried to open up to my loved ones. This helped me deal with my depression and anxiety. I am not 9 for letting others help me through life. If there is any problem，I should talk to the people I love and trust. My parents may be the first 10 ，but I have friends too. They make my life better. 

Tony loves his grandma. She often tells him stories about Santa Claus(圣诞老人). 

Today is December 24th. Tony's grandma takes him to Kevin's Store to shop. She gives Tony fifty dollars and says, " Take the money and buy something for someone who needs it. I' ll wait for you in the car. "

Tony thinks of everyone he knows: his family, friends and classmates. Then he thinks of Bobbie. Bobbie sits behind Tony. He doesn't have a warm coat. Tony knows it because Bobbie never goes out to play in winter. So Tony buys a blue coat for him. It looks really warm. 

In the evening, his grandma helps Tony put the coat in a Christmas box, and writes" To Bobbie, From Santa Claus" on it. " Santa helps people but never lets them know, " Tony's grandma says. They put the box in front of Bobbie's house and then go back home joyfully. 

That night Tony knows Santa Claus is real, and they are on his team. 

A lot of students are playing all kinds of sports on the sports field. A football game is{#blank#}1{#/blank#} on right now between Class 3 and Class 4. We don't know which team will {#blank#}2{#/blank#}. Look at those people over there! Some students of Class 1 are practising the high jump. One of them is the best high jumper in the school. He {#blank#}3{#/blank#} hard every day. Many people think he will break the school record in the {#blank#}4{#/blank#} meeting next spring. Not far away from {#blank#}5{#/blank#}, some girls are preparing for a race. They will have an 800-metr e race in ten {#blank#}6{#/blank#}. Now on the corner of the field, you can see another group of students. Their teacher is telling them how to{#blank#}7{#/blank#} the discus(铁饼). 

In schools, {#blank#}8{#/blank#} and more students love sports now. Sports help people to keep {#blank#}9{#/blank#}. They also help people to live {#blank#}10{#/blank#}. And while doing sports on the sports field, many people will become good friends too. Do you think so?

 Late that night, we started our final part of the climb. Nervously we carried on after a short rest. Everyone looked  1 . Outside of the tent it was totally black. It was just after  2 . Snow was falling. It was freezing.

 The group climbed silently through deep snow. I could not think. The height of the mountain was playing tricks on my  3 . I tried to keep concentrated(集中思想) by watching my feet and counting to ten  4 .

 People around me were just standing still as they tried to get their breath.I tried to encourage them to keep walking. My friend looked at me 5 . He was really tired. He kept trying to lie down and go to sleep. If he did, he would freeze to death. I told him to keep moving. He climbed on. When I checked my  6 , I saw, with surprise, that I'd been walking for three hours already. I felt as if I was fighting every step of the way. All I wanted to do was to turn round and go down — but I must reach the top!

I began to wonder if I was not strong enough. I was losing my mind. My breathing was very rapid. Each  7 I took made me more and more dizzy(晕眩的). Someone told me we had another hour and a half to go.

I forced myself to  8 . I had to be more careful because one careless step could make me 9 .

Then I saw Gilman's Peak up ahead of me. Someone at the top was telling me to make one last effort. The sun was beginning to  10 above the clouds. I climbed up the last few meters and suddenly I realized I'd done it!I was there! I was at the top of Africa!

A Bite of China is a documentary（记录片）that started on CCTV on May 14th, 2012. It tells the stories behind delicious food from different places in China and shows a lot about Chinese culture. Britain's Got Talent is a British television talent show and competition which began in June 2007. Anyone of any age with some kinds of talent can apply for（申请）a chance against each other to win a prize. The Voice of China is a television singing competition. It started on July 13th, 2012 on Zhejiang TV. It is like The Voice of Holland which started in Holland in 2010. Mythbusters is a science entertainment（科技型娱乐）TV program. It is one of the oldest and the most popular shows on Discovery Channel in America. On the show, the hosts（主持人）, Adam Savage and Jamie Hynema, take a scientific look at what people say or think to see if it is true. 

My parents are always very busy with their work. When I don't need to go to school, I have to stay at home by{#blank#}1{#/blank#}（I）. 

Sometimes I feel really bored and want to go on a trip. {#blank#}2{#/blank#}（lucky）, last week my parents had a four-day vacation, so they decided  {#blank#}3{#/blank#}（take）  me to Guilin by train. When we got to the station, we saw many people there and we  {#blank#}4{#/blank#}（wait） over an hour for the train. 

Guilin is a {#blank#}5{#/blank#} （wonder） city with beautiful scenery （风景）. There are new buildings everywhere in the city. People there are friendly and the streets are very clean. On the second day after we arrived there, we rented （租） three  {#blank#}6{#/blank#} （bicycle） and rode them around the city.  {#blank#}7{#/blank#} we were hungry, we stopped to eat some food. On the {#blank#}8{#/blank#}（three） day, we took a boat trip along the Lijiang River to Yangshuo. {#blank#}9{#/blank#} the way, we saw mountains of different shapes （形状）. We spent three days in Guilin and had {#blank#}10{#/blank#} enjoyable time.
