    The New Year's Eve party was going on when the bell rang. A tall man opened the door and came in. Nobody knew him, but the host went over and took him in. The man sat there happily for an hour and drunk. Then he said, “No one invited me to this party. I don't know you, or anyone else here. My wife and I wanted to go out in our car, but one of your friend's cars was in front of our gate, so I came here to find him, and my wife is still waiting in our car!”

    A man is going to the house of a rich man. He sees a box of good apples by the road. He says," I don't want them, because the rich man will give me a lot of good food." Then he takes the apples and throws them into the dustbin (垃圾桶).

    He has nothing to eat the day. He is very hungry, so he comes to the apples.

    Don't throw good things away, you may be glad to have them sometimes.

    We get headaches sometimes. But how much do you know about headaches? What may cause that? And what should we do if we have a headache? When should we go to see a doctor?

    A headache is not a disease, but it may show that something in our body is wrong. We may have more than one headache each month.

    Usually a fever may cause headaches. We may get a headache when we work too hard. We may get a headache when we don't get enough sleep. We may get a headache when we exercise with an empty stomach. What should we do if we have a headache?

    We should lie down and rest. We should have a good sleep. We shouldn't take too much exercise if we are hungry. If we have headaches often, we need to see a doctor.

    This is a big nature park. In the park there is a forest and some mountains. On the mountains there are many trees and some beautiful flowers. There is a river and bridge on the mountains too. We can walk on this small bridge. There are two lakes in the park. One is big, and one is small. We can swim and fish there. What can you see in the lake? Wow, there are many fish.

    My name is Susan. I'm nine years old. I'm tall. My father is tall, too. But my mother is short. I go to school on foot. Li Shan is my classmate (同班同学). We are in Class 2, Grade 3. Colin is my schoolmate. We are good friends.
