    A travel journal is one of the best ways to keep a long voyage in memory. Many details that don't seem important while you are writing your travel journal often turn out to be so memorable.

    Get into the habit of writing your travel journal every day. You may promise yourself that you will write later, but that almost never happens. Take a few minutes every day and put down what you have seen and heard. It doesn't have to be long, just on a regular basis.

    . There is a surprising amount of sitting around while you go traveling. You can always put down a few lines in your travel journal when you are on trains, waiting for planes, drying your laundry, or waiting in line.

    At the beginning of your journal, write down the day, where you are, who you are with, maybe even the weather and what you eat.. Years later when you read your journal, you will know exactly what you were doing on that day.

Focus on writing about how you feel. Listing facts and figures is fine but that isn't why you traveled. A long journey is a time for self-reflection. Memories of these feelings disappear quickly with time. .

    . Whenever you use a ticket for a train or a museum or a ride, tape the stubs (存根) to your journal. They are pieces of history from your journey. Years later you can look at the ticket stubs and see exactly what you were doing on a specific day and how much it cost.

A. Keep ticket stubs

B. Book your ticket in advance

C. These are the first details you tend to forget

D. You'd better write down as much as possible

E. Use your "down time" for your travel journal

F. When you are on a busy journey, it is easy to forget to write

    While it's wonderful to share a special trip with friends or family, traveling alone is another experience. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}

1). Meet new people.

    People who are traveling alone seem more approachable to others. Before you know it, you could be chatting with some interesting folks at a sidewalk cafe or even joining a group of like-minded people on the beach. {#blank#}2{#/blank#}

2).Do everything you want and nothing you don't want.

    Have you ever been hesitant to do that half-day at the spa you are eager for because you feel bad leaving your travel partner with nothing to do? {#blank#}3{#/blank#} If you want to “waste” the day sitting at an outdoor bar drinking a cocktail instead of sightseeing, you won't have to answer anyone.

3).{#blank#}4{#/blank#}

    If traveling makes you a good, smart person, then traveling alone makes you better and smarter. Taking a trip by yourself might seem frightening. However, once you take the courage and get over your fears, you'll feel a sense of energy. A successful single vacation can inspire you to try new things in life.

Great service.

    For some reason, service at hotels and restaurants seems better when you're traveling alone. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} And it's possible that when you make it known, you could be offered a better room or a free cocktail.

A.The key is to keep an open mind and keep safety in mind.

B.Travelling  alone makes you truly listen to your inner thoughts.

C.When you travel alone, you don't need to please anyone but yourself.

D.Here are four good reasons why you should try it.

F.Cheering up.

G.People tend to admire those who travel alone.

根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中的两项为多余选项。

    Matthew Youlden speaks nine languages fluently and understands more than a dozen more. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} When I told Matthew how I've been working hard to only pick up a second language, he had the following advice for me.

    Know why you are doing it

    This might sound easy , but if you don't have a good reason to learn a language, you are less likely to stay interested over the long-run. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} Wanting to get to know a French person in his or her own language is another matter entirely. No matter what your reason is, once you've decided on a language, it's important to carry out .

    {#blank#}3{#/blank#}

    Matthew learned several languages together with his twin brother Michael. They learned their first foreign language, Greek, when they were only eight years old! Even if you can't get a sister or brother to join you on your language adventure, having any kind of partner will push both of you to always try just a little bit harder and stay with it.

    Have fun with it

    {#blank#}4{#/blank#}Think of some fun ways to practice your new language: make a radio play with a friend, draw a comic strip, write a poem, or simply talk to whomever you can. If you can't find a way to have fun with the new language, chances are you aren't following step four.

    Act like a child

    We learn by making mistakes. {#blank#}5{#/blank#}But as adults, mistakes become taboo(禁忌). Think how an adult is more likely to say, “I can't”, rather than, “I haven't learned that yet” (I can't swim, I can't drive, I can't speak Spanish). When it comes to learning a language, admitting that you don't know everything is the key to growth and freedom.

A. Find a partner

B. Leave your comfort place

C. We work in the same office in Berlin.

D. As kids, we are expected to make mistakes.

E. You are learning a language to be able to use it.

F. Using your new language in any way is a creative act.

G. Wanting to impress English-speakers with your French is not a very good reason.

    What is the easiest way to stay warm in the super cold?{#blank#}1{#/blank#}. At least that is what Santa Claus told me.

    During Christmas, Dennis and I went to Finland. We brought back some tips for keeping warm in a cold temperature.

    ⒈There layers(层)work wonders.

    Start with the base layer, which sits right on your skin: choose something that can absorb sweat{#blank#}2{#/blank#}A sweater is a good choice. The most important layer is the outer clothes, which should be waterproof(防水的)and windproof.

    You lose heat from every millimeter of uncovered skin, which was the biggest lesson I learned on this trip. My whole body was well covered. But I missed one sport: my face. So it often felt like the wind was going to blow my nose off.
