Do you have true friends? Do you want to know better between you and your friends? There are three different kinds of friends: "pest friends", "guest friends", and "best friends".

The first kind of friends is simply acquaintances (熟人), and all you usually know about them is their names. You may meet this kind of friends at school, at work, or on the bus, but you don't miss them when they're not around. When this kind of friends do something bad, you don't tell them. That is why they are called "pest friends".

The second kind of friends could also be called "social partners". They are closer than acquaintances, but not as close as true friends. You know their names, a little about what they like or dislike, and a little about their family histories; you usually have a few things in common, but you don't talk about anything deep, such as your wishes or fears, and they don't open up to you how they really feel.

The last kind of friends, the "best friends", are the people you know the deepest.

You're like family, and know everything about each other. You have no problem staying at each other's houses, and you share your deepest feelings and thoughts. They will correct you when you're wrong, and though they may not be perfect, they at least will always care about you, and never do anything on purpose (故意地) to hurt you.

We all have our pest, guest, and best friends. We should value (重视) all friendship. Remember, all best friends start out as just acquaintances.

When you do not use your arms or legs for some time, they will become weak. When you start using then again, they slowly become strong again. Everybody knows that. Yet many people do not seem to know that memory works in the same way.

When someone says that he has a good memory, he really means that he keeps his memory in practice by using it. When someone else says that his memory is poor, he really means that he does not give it enough chance to become strong.

If a friend says that his arms and legs are weak, we know that it is his own fault(过错).But if he tells us that he has a poor memory, many of us think that his parents are to blame(负有责任) and few of us know that it is just his own fault. Have you ever found that some people can't read or write but they usually have better memories? This is because they cannot read or write but they have to remember things. They cannot write them down in a small notebook. They have to remember days, names, songs and stories, so their memory is being exercised the whole time.

So if you want to have a good memory, learn from the people: practise remembering things as much as possible.

① Arat Montoya, 36, lives in West Linn, a city in the US. He is from a family of bakers. But he doesn't like making bread. When his father asked him to follow the family tradition, Montoya said,"I'm sorry, Dad. I love dogs." he said.

②Montoya spent a few years working at a dog club. After the club closed, Montoya started to offer(提 供) a doggie day care service(服务). He has a" Doggie School Bus" and he works as the driver. The bus runs five days a week and the service is $30 per(每一) dog each day.

③Montoya's service is pretty nice. Every morning at about 7 a. m., he drives the school bus to the owners'(主人) houses to pick up the dogs and takes them to" school"—a farm. The dogs are full of excitement because" go to school" means they can play all day. They can run around and play with each other at" school". When" school" finishes, Montoya takes the dogs back home. He also sends some videos and pictures to show the dogs'" school" life to the dogs' owners.

④ It shows that the doggie day care service is a great business(生意) idea. Montoya loves taking care of those dogs. And the dogs love going to" school". The most important is that the dogs' owners speak highly of Montoya and his business. All of them are happy about this doggie day care service.

⑤Now, more than 300 owners ask Montoya to take care of their dogs."I'm the happiest man in the world," Montoya said." Doing what I like truly makes me happy."

One day five fishermen go fishing. They are lucky. Each fisherman gets a big fish. 

"What a fine dinner we will have!" says one fisherman. "Now let's go home. "

"Are we all here? Let me count first, " says another. "One, two, three, four. Oh, no! One of us is missing(失踪的)!"

"It cannot be!" says another. So he begins to count. "One, two, three, four. I see four fishermen, too! One of us has drowned(溺死)!"

All the fishermen are heartbroken. They cry and cry. 

Just then a little girl comes by. "Why do you cry?" she asks them. 

"One fisherman is missing, " says one fisherman. 

"One, two, three, four, " he counts again. 

The little girl sees his mistake right away. So she says, "Will you give me your fish if I find your missing friend?" asks she. 

"Yes! Yes!" say they. 

"Now jump into the river one at a time, " the little girl tells them. "And I will count you. "

The fishermen jump into the river one by one. One! Two! Three! Four! Five!

"Five!" the fishermen shout, "You find our missing friend!" Then the fishermen give the little girl all their fish. They have no fish for dinner, but they are all happy again.
