Lin Dan is a famous badminton player. He didn't win the gold medal this year but many people know him because he won the gold medals in 2008 and 2012. He is from Fujian. He was born on October 14, 1983. He lives with his parents, grandmother and his wife now. Lin Dan's favorite player is Jordan. Jordan is a basketball player. Lin loves Coke. He likes pets, but dog is his favorite. Many young people love him very much. They think Lin Dan is their super star. They also call him Super Dan.

    As a student, I was the most afraid to answer questions in class, and I found that the students around were just like me. At the beginning of each class, when the teacher asked a question, I always lowered my head because I was afraid that the teacher would see me.

    One day, in a foreign language class, Mr. Black gave us a lesson, He wanted us to be active in class. So he asked us some questions, but no one answered. "Let me tell you a story first," he said. "When I went to the

United States to study, the university often invited famous people to make speeches. Before the beginning of every speech, I found an interesting thing.

    The students around me always took a cardboard folded(折叠的) in half wrote their names in bold with the most eye-catching colour, and then placed the cardboard on the seat. So when the speaker needed the answers from the students, he could see and call a listener's name directly.

I couldn't understand that. My classmate told me the speakers were all top people, who meant chances. When your answer was to his surprise, it meant he might give you more chances.

    In fact, I really saw a few students got great chances because of that after listening to the story, I understood that the chance will not find you itself. You must show yourself all the time so that you can find a chance.

Next week our class is going to a rainforest to have a special biology class. We went online and searched for something about the 1  of plants. We are sharing the information with each other now.

On Wednesday evening, we went to the {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(中心的，中央的)part of the town. It was the last day of the year and a large {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(人群)of people came. It was a {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(传统)that people {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(聚集) under the Town Hall clock to count down for the {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(即将到来的)new year. It would strike twelve in twenty minutes' time. People waited {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(耐心地). Fifteen minutes passed and then, at five to twelve, the clock stopped. The big minute hand did not move. Everyone paid a{#blank#}7{#/blank#}to it and we all waited and waited, but nothing happened. Suddenly someone in the {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(角落)shouted, "It's two minutes past twelve! The clock has stopped!" I looked at my watch. It was {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(正确的). The big clock refused to welcome the New Year. At that moment, everybody began to laugh and sing. They {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(表达)their best wishes to each other.

Wang Xinyao and her parents will never forget the special day— July 22nd, 2022. On that day, Wang 1 the admission letter (录取通知书) from Peking University in Beijing. Two important people from the university travelled to Wang's high school in Changchun, Jilin Province to give her the2 news. 

In the 2022 gaokao, Wang got a 3 of 618. As we know, it isn't easy for most high school students to 4 that high scores. And Peking University is most Chinese students' dream university. You can 5 how difficult it is for a girl who can't walk. Wang Xinyao hurt badly  6 she was practising dance moves at the age of 6. Her parents took her to many  7 in Beijing, but doctors said she would never walk.8 , her parents didn't give up. Over the next two years, the family9 in Beijing for Wang's rehabilitation (康复).
