One day Mozart saw an old blind street performer(街头卖艺人) p{#blank#}1{#/blank#} the violin at the street corner w{#blank#}2{#/blank#} a hat in front of him. He found out the old man was playing one of his compositions(作品). The old man played for a while, b{#blank#}3{#/blank#} nobody put any money into his hat. Mozart asked the old man, “Do you often play compositions by Mozart?” “Yes, sir,” answered the old man. “Now everyone knows Mozart and they love music.” “Do you make a living by playing the violin?” The old man said he d{#blank#}4{#/blank#}. Mozart took over the violin from the old man and began to play.

      He played so w{#blank#}5{#/blank#} that all the passers-by(路过的人) stopped to l{#blank#}6{#/blank#} to the wonderful music and g{#blank#}7{#/blank#} them money. Soon the old man f{#blank#}8{#/blank#} surprised that the man could play so well.     There was a photo competition in our School Art Festival last week. It was the {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (第九) photo competition. Compared with last year, more students took part in the activities. We received {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (成百) photos from different students and teachers. All of us were pleased with our competition this year.

    Soap is widely used in our lives around the world. Once soap was a dangerous-to-make hair P{#blank#}1{#/blank#}. But it is something that it would be difficult to live without today.

    Soap is everywhere. We use it every day and c{#blank#}2{#/blank#} it as something important in our lives. It also has an amazing h{#blank#}3{#/blank#}, in Babylon around 2800 B. C., the e{#blank#}4{#/blank#} known soap was made and used. Ancient Egyptians also made soap. At one time, soap-making was not s{#blank#}5{#/blank#}.That's because lye(碱液) b{#blank#}6{#/blank#}chemical burns or even made people blind in the making process. Other dangerous materials were also m{#blank#}7{#/blank#}with animal fats and oils. Later. soap became a{#blank#}8{#/blank#} in stores and people gradually stopped making it in their homes.

    Originally (最初), soap was not mainly used for c{#blank#}9{#/blank#} Instead,it was used as gel(凝胶) for making hair stay in place or smell good. The Arabs first made the soap that we know today. They created colored, liquid, and hard soaps. They even had soaps which were used for shaving(刮胡子).

    Soap became people's f{#blank#}10{#/blank#}in the late 1800s. Advertising in Europe and the US helped people understand the connection between cleanliness and good health. Now. Soap is something we wouldn't want to live without.

    Paul is very busy {#blank#}1{#/blank#} days. Every day he gets up {#blank#}2{#/blank#} in the morning. Then he cleans his room. Paul {#blank#}3{#/blank#} breakfast at half past six. After that, he{#blank#}4{#/blank#} to the bus station to take the bus. He begins to work at eight o'clock. He likes {#blank#}5{#/blank#} job.

    When I told my parents about the decision, they didn't a{#blank#}2{#/blank#} at first. They said I didn't know much about the place. They were worried that it was not s{#blank#}3{#/blank#} for me to go there. Thankfully, after I explained my plan to them in detail, they said yes.

    When our group arrived in Gary, I noticed how different the town was from where I lived. There were few stores or restaurants in the town; most had closed. So you would be very l{#blank#}4{#/blank#} if you could find a place to buy food or drinks. Houses were built on small hills. Many of them had broken doors or windows. My job was to help the local people to r{#blank#}5{#/blank#} houses.The work days were long and hot, but it was really good to see the houses taking on a new look day by day.

    The children there were also different. They seemed to enjoy every moment in life though they were poor. The smallest things would make these kids happy. I couldn't find words to describe their j{#blank#}6{#/blank#} when they received an ice-cream, a ball or even a kiss. The community was like a big family. Everyone knew each other and was there when someone needed help.

    I am so glad that I had this unforgetable experience. I truly learned the m{#blank#}7{#/blank#} of what my mother said. You don't need to do much to make a difference to others' lives.
