Liu Yaxuan is totally a homebody. Every weekend, this 14-year-old student from Tsinghua High School watches popular TV dramas and plays with her mobile phone. She hates playing outdoor sports."It's too tiring,"she said.

She is not alone. In recent years, more and more Chinese teenagers are becoming homebodies. A 2013 survey of kids aged 2 to 14 showed about half of them spend less than one hour doing outdoor activities every day.

To some extent, heavy academic pressure (学业压力) caused this situation. Hu Huilan, 12, from Shenzhen Nanshan Language School, is busy with piles of homework and extra classes on weekends."I don't want to get behind,"she said.

Even if this isn't a problem, kids still prefer indoor life. Wang Yidi, 12, from Anhui No. 50 Middle School, often reads Harry Potter, listens to music and surfs the Internet at home."I can do so many things I like at home rather than hang out in smoggy weather,"she said.

But this causes bad health conditions. Chinese teenagers' physical conditions have been dropping for about 28 years, reported a newspaper last year.

The situation for teenagers should be changed. They should spend their free time outdoors even if it just means going to the park or reading a book under the tree. Nice weather, little homework and rich outdoor activities enable them to do that. It helps them stay energetic.

 On Oct 11, robot history was made when Ai- Da, a human- like robot artist talked at a meeting in the UK. The topic for the meeting was"A Creative Future".

 Ai- Da paints using cameras in her eyes and robotic arms. She" thinks" and answers questions using AI algorithms (算法). She has painted the UK queen and had her work presented in galleries(画廊).

 Describing herself, Ai- Da told people at the meeting that"I am a robot and I depend on computer programs and algorithms" and" although not alive,I can still create art". Amusingly, at the meeting, Ai- Da" slept"— it shut down and had to be restarted. But her ability to answer questions in real time shows the huge developments of AI. These are developments that will continue.

 One person who seems interested in this is Elon Musk. He is planning on creating his own AI robots for his company, Tesla. Musk presented Tesla's human- like robot, named Optimus, at Tesla's AI Day on Sept 30. Tesla showed videos of their robot doing simple tasks like carrying boxes and watering plants, said CNN.

 With robots becoming more and more part of our daily lives, we may have to learn to live with them. But will people be happy to have these robotic friends or will they feel threatened(威胁的) by them? As Ai- Da said," Technology can be both a threat and an opportunity."

Puff and Pip lived in a burrow（地洞）. They were both pleased with 1 home.

Next they came to a watering hole. "This is a better home, " Pip said. "Much1111 to water and food!" Puff's eyes grew wide. "Yes!" As the friends took a drink of water, they saw some cattle 12 straight for them. "This is not a better home!"

Pip shouted. "It's hard 13 a better home, " Pip said. "Why did we ever leave the one we 14 ?"

"Maybe ours is good enough, " Pip said, "but we 15 take an adventure walk now and then, " he added. "Just to see the world a bit. " Puff nodded. 

Mrs. Grady welcomed her class back into the warm, cheerful room. The children sat down at their desks, still talking about what they did over winter vacation. It took a few minutes for Mrs. Grady to get them 1 down.

Plants have an important role in the world. They produce most of the world's O₂, and they are important in the food chain. Almost all living things depend on (依赖) plants to live. Animals depend on plants to get nutrients (养分) as well as O₂. Environmental factors (因素) like light, temperature and water can influence plants' growth. It's important to understand how these factors influence plants.
