Confucius lived in the Kingdom of Lu, which lies in Shandong Province. He lived during the Spring and Autumn Period. He had a hard childhood. His father died when he was only 3. His mother brought him up. As a child, he had to work to help his mother, but young Confucius didn't give up studying. He visited many famous teachers and learned music, history, poetry and sports.

Later, he became a teacher and started the first public school in Chinese history. At that time, only children from noble (贵族的) families could go to school, but Confucius believed everyone should go to school if they wanted to learn. He had about 3 , 000 students in his lifetime.

Today, people still follow Confucius ' lessons. He told us that each person has something worthy to learn and teach. "When I am with three people, one of them must be better than me in some areas. I choose their good qualities and follow them. I take their bad qualities and change them in myself. "

He also taught us that thinking is very important in study. "All study but no thinking makes people puzzled. All thinking but no study makes people lazy. "

There are many ways to enjoy learning English.

One of my students likes telling stories very much. I often ask him to tell a story in English before we have the English class. Can you guess what happens? Learning English is not hard

for him. He tries to remember a lot of English stories and tells them in English. We enjoy his English stories very much. If we don't under-stand him, he will translate(翻译) the stories into Chinese for us. Later he learns English well. We also learn a lot from his stories.

Another student has big problems with listening. She enjoys listening to songs. I offer her a lot of English songs without(没有) words. She wants to learn one of them. I advise her to write down the words one by one when she listens to the English song. She says she has never tried this way before. It is really helpful and her listening has been improved.

The two students have different experience of learning English.

The Feyman Technique(费曼学习法) was developed by Nobel Prize-winning physicist(物理学家)Richard Feynman. It's a study method that helps students learn by teaching others. 

The Feyman Technique has been one of the most effective study methods for many years. For one thing, it helps students really understand something instead of just memorizing information. Plus, unlike traditional study methods like re-reading textbooks or reviewing notes, it pushes students to be more actively involved(参与) in the learning process. 

If you want to use the Feynman Technique to study better, follow these steps. To begin with, choose a topic you want to learn, including sub-topics(子主题). If not, you'll end up jumping between topics without developing a deeper understanding of any of them. 

The second step is the heart of the Feynman Technique: explaining the topic simply enough to be understood by a sixth-grade student. This requires you to help the child understand by using the simplest and clearest language. This step helps divide indigestible topics into their most basic parts. 

Next, review your explanation and try to find any area where you felt that you couldn't explain the topic simply. When possible, it can be very helpful to get advice from someone whose understanding is similar to that of a sixth-grader. 

The fourth step is to improve your explanation using the information collected from the third step. Finally, repeat the steps. The Feynman Technique works best with repetition, and that is why going through all the prior(先前的)steps just once is usually not enough to fully understand the topic. 

Once you're confident you've learned the topic, it's time to give yourself-a prize. Perhaps, like me, enjoy a nice cup of coffee. 

Some students don't like maths. They think it's difficult. And here is what you can do.

Listen well in class. The maths teacher knows much. When you listen well, you can know much, too. So be a careful (仔细的) student and listen well. And you can ask your maths teacher for help if you don't know in class.

Ask your classmates for help. Your maths teacher isn't always with you. When you find a problem too difficult, you can ask your classmates for help, too. A classmate is a good friend. He or she must be happy to help you.

Practise it every day. Do you want to be good at maths? It takes time. You can't learn it well in a day. So practise it every day, and you can find it easy. Maths is a great subject. Let's learn it well.

Reading an English newspaper is a good way to improve a student's English. It can help you {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (增加)your vocabulary as well as improve your reading skills. You can also learn something new from the newspaper. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (然而), what is the right way to read an English newspaper? Is it a must to look over all the words of the newspaper?

First of all, picking a right newspaper with good language is a good {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (选择). Then turn to the front page and read the headlines to know what has happened. As the most important things are on the front page, it's easy to find out what you' re {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (感兴趣的)in and then turn to it and read all of it. There is no {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(需要)to go through all of them.

Secondly, read newspapers every day and read what you like {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (大声地). Remember words between the lines. Once they {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (出现)several times, you will remember them.
