Many people like to travel by plane, but I don't. The airport is usually far from the city. You have to get there early and wait for hours before the plane takes off and it is often late. You can't open the window. You can't choose the food. Planes are fast but it still takes hours to get out of the airport and into the city.

    I like traveling by train. I think trains are safe. Railway stations are usually in downtown. When you are late for a train, you can catch another. You can walk around in the train and open the windows. You can see many interesting things on your way. I know it takes a little more time. I also like cars. You can start your journey when you want to, and you don't need to get to a railway station or a bus stop. Also you can carry many things with you in a car. But sometimes there are too many cars on the roads.

    Why here are thousands of people including lots of the old and the young, climbing the Fenghuang Mountain. Because there is a famous festival in Dazhou, which called Yuanjiu Mountain Climbing festival.(元九登高节) This festival is related with a poet as well as an official in Tang Dynasty. His name was Yuan Zhen and people called him Yuan Jiu later. In A. D. 815, Yuan Zhen did something wrong with his job, so he was sent to Tongzhou, which was a poor and remote place in ancient China. He didn't give   ❶  and made lots of projects to promote (促进) the economic development.   ❷   the leadership of him, Tongzhou changed a lot.①因此人们喜爱他. Because he did such an excellent job, he was transferred to Henan in A.D.818.The day when he left was the ninth day of the first lunar month. All the town people climbed onto the top of Cuiping Mountain in the South and the Fenghuang Mountain in the North to say goodbye to him. ② From then on, the custom and tradition of climbing hills on the day of "Yuanjiu" has been kept in Dazhou. To remember Yuan Zhen, all people in Dazhou go out in groups and climb hills on that day. People are looking forward to getting rid of the bad luck in the past year, hoping in the next year everything is going well. To show great respect for the public customs and opinions, every year our government plans a series of activities to promote the influence of Yuanjiu Mountain Climbing Festival. Nowadays, ③Dawhou, more, feeling, and, people, more, cultural charm (魅力), are, of, even the tourists and foreign friends are attracted to take part in such traditional activities. From the Other Side

Lara and Tara are twins. They look like each other, but they are very different in everything else. For example, hot food is Lara's favorite, and Tara has a sweet choice.

However, this isn't the problem with the twin girls. They always argues that the opposite one was wrong. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}, while Tara thought mornings were fresh and it was difficult to stay up till midnight.

{#blank#}2{#/blank#} To put an end to their fights, their parents decided to create a small drama. They wanted the girls to understand that they were both correct from their own point of view. Their parents covered the girl's eyes with black ribbons (带、条), and brought them to the dining room. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} Lara was asked to stand on one side of the board and Tara on the other. They couldn't see the other side of it. When the ribbons were taken away, they were surprised to see a huge board between them.

Now, their father asked Lara, "What's the color of the board?" She replied, "It's black!" {#blank#}4{#/blank#} She replied, "It's white!" The two girls began to argue again. While Lara was confident it was black, Tara was sure it was white. Then, they were asked to exchange (交换) their places. They couldn't believe their eyes. Tara, who insisted (坚持) it was a white board, saw a black one. Similarly, Lara, who argued the board was black, was surprised to see a white one. They understood that each of them was right in her own view. Most of us are like Lara and Tara. We are right most times, but insist that others are wrong!
