Thang-ga is a special kind of painting. It started from the Tang Dynasty. Thang-ga paintings have attracted the public's attention in recent years. At the same time, the Chinese government has also tried hard to protect the culture.

    Thang-ga paintings were developed in the 7th century in the Tibetan area. The paintings are colourful and the paints used in Thang-ga paintings are different from those in other paintings. Because of the special environment of the Tibetan Plateau (高原) and the excellent painting skills, the colours of Thang-ga paintings look special. The paints in Thang-ga paintings in the past were made from minerals, including gold, silver, as well as some plants. Since they were made by hand, the beautiful colours could last for hundreds of years.

    However, with the development of machines, people now use cheaper and more easily-made chemicals to make paints. The traditional paints in Thang-ga paintings needed too much work and there were many secret methods. Later people stopped making the paints and forgot about them. So the skills were almost lost.

A mystery box (盲盒) keeps what's inside a secret. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} But now shops are putting food in them—they are "leftover mystery boxes".

The food inside is near its expiration date (保质期) and will be thrown away if no one buys it. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} They are more and more popular in China's cities, such as Beijing, Nanjing and Chengdu.

In 2021 when I was studying in the UK, I bought leftover mystery boxes from an app called Too Good To Go. Each box cost about 3 to 5 pounds (27 to 45 yuan), and there were usually three to four things inside. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} The box cost 3 pounds but the original price (原价) was around 10 pounds.

{#blank#}4{#/blank#} I felt happy to see kinds of food in it and then I would be happier thinking about how much money I saved. And it helped to cut down wasting of food.

{#blank#}5{#/blank#} Because I can't choose what's in the box, sometimes I got the same kind of food. I had to make other dishes, such as a salad, to make the meal healthier.

People need plants. Plants are important in our lives and we can't i{#blank#}1{#/blank#} world without them. 

Plants keep our air and water clean. Green plants produce o{#blank#}2{#/blank#} for us. Plants are also part of the water cycle( 水 循 环 ). Most of the water goes back into the air after a plant t{#blank#}3{#/blank#} it in. Plants give us a lot of food on Earth. Fruit, vegetables, and grains come from plants. Plants are also important resources( 资 源 ). For example, trees provide wood to build homes and f {#blank#}4{#/blank#}. We use trees to make lots of things at home and school. 

All in all, plants are very important in our daily lives. We can see plants everywhere. Many people are also growing plants in their own gardens. If people grow their own fruit and vegetables, they won't need to buy their food from shops or s{#blank#}5{#/blank#}. People can just pick it out of the ground or off a plant and put it into a basket!

On the morning of every Monday, two of my children get ready for school. They each carry a large bag with some clothes, a pair of shoes, lots of food and water. But there isn't any book in it. Then instead of walking them to school as I do on the other school days, I drive them to a nearby park. This is where they are going to spend (度过) the day and have lessons. Right, my boys go to a forest school once a week. It is from 8:30 a. m. to 3 :30 p. m. A group of kids explore (探索) the forests, lakes and animals in nature together. 

I love the idea of the forest school, but I worry about a few things at first. Would the teachers be nice? Would my kids have fun?

The fact is that my boys get used to (习惯于) the school life quickly. Most of the time, they plan their own play, climb tall trees, build fires and do many other interesting things. The teachers never tell them that their play is too high, too fast, or too dangerous. They only follow the kids and help when something goes wrong. 

When I pick the boys up at the end of the afternoon, they often look lively, happy and never want to leave. The forest school teaches them to look after themselves and get along well with nature. I think that is important. 

 Our eyes change as we get older, that's just a {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (事实). But we can do things to make it slower and keep our eyes safe.

 Our eyes grow the most  {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (在...期间) the first two years of our lives, and grow fast again when we are teenagers. By the time we get twenty, our eyes have reached their {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (满的) size. From around the age of forty, many people find it hard to see close-up things c{#blank#}4{#/blank#} . This is because they have presbyopia(老花眼). There's nothing to worry about as long as they {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (选择) the right glasses to correct it.

 Here is {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (某事) we can do to slow down the aging of eyes.

Don't smoke. A TV {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (节目) recently showed that smoking is bad for our eyes. People who smoke are easier to get eye problems. Giving up smoking is one of the best things you are a {#blank#}8{#/blank#} to do for your eyes.

 Get check-ups.An eye test can show early signs of eye diseases and also find out other  {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(健康) problems.

 Take a break from s{#blank#}10{#/blank#} .They send out a lot of blue light, which can make our eyes dry and tired. Every 20 minutes, try to take a 20-second break.
