When you have a hobby, you learn new things. You have to read instructions, You visit websites and read magazines or books to get more information about your hobby.

For many hobbies, such as building model cars, you have to use your brain as well as your hands. We learn by doing things.

Having a hobby makes you feel good. Scientists say,"When you make something, the ‘feel-good'part of your brain gets a message. 'It makes you feel happy." When we feel happy, we have less stress.

People with hobbies learn how to set goals and solve problems. Learning these skills when you are young can help you when you grow up. For some kids, having a hobby can be the first step to finding a satisfactory job in the future.

Clean-Up Day It falls on the third Saturday of April. Come with our family and neighbors.
First, let's pick up the rubbish in Strawberry Park next to our neighborhood. Remember to wear comfortable clothes and bring your gloves. We'll give you rubbish bags. Free lunch for volunteers is at the restaurant near the park. At 1:00 p.m. come back to our neighborhood to go on the clean-up.
We'll prepare cleaning tools (工具) for you. After the clean-up, we'll have an afternoon tea from 3:00 to 4: 00. A cheese cake and a cup of hot coffee are waiting for you! Let's enjoy our Clean-Up Day! |
