Li Ming's Summer Holiday

    Summer holiday is from July to August in China .It ' s a long time for me to do all kinds of things .I like visiting some places of interest .And I like travelling by train .It takes me too much time ,but it saves money .Sometimes I stay at home and do my homework ,sometimes I help my parents do some house work .When my parents are free ,we often go to the park or the zoo ,and we have a good time there .I have a good summer holiday .

Wang Tao's Summer Holiday

    My summer holiday of this year was very enjoyable. I went to the countryside to spend my summer holidays with my grandparents. It is very beautiful there. There are green plants, clear rivers, lovely animals and kind people. I spent two weeks helping my grandfather do some farm work there. Besides, I helped the children in the neighborhoods with their lessons. I helped them read English to improve their spoken English. Their parents thanked me for this and thought highly of me. I realized that knowledge is greatly needed in the countryside.

    Hi! I'm Tom, the cat. The dog is Huck. We live with our master Miss Brown in New York. Miss Brown gives us the names after the book Tom Sawyer and HuckleberryFinn. In the book, Tom and Huckleberry are friends. Miss Brown hopes (希望) we can be friends too.

    I'm two years old. I like playing ball games with Huck. Huck is good at them too. Sleeping is also my hobby. I feel very good to sleep in the warm sun. Huck is a tall and strong dog. He likes running in the park with Miss Brown every afternoon. I don't go with them. I usually watch TV at home.

    Miss Brown likes travelling with us. We are going to California this summer. It is great, right?

    Everyone wants to relax (放松) after working or studying for a long time. I have many ways to relax. Let me tell you some of my favorites.

    I am a big sports fan (迷). So I often watch or play many kinds of sports. But my favorite is football. I find it really cool.

    I usually listen to music in my free time. My favorite is some beautiful piano music. Some people can't do things well when listening to music, but for me, it is not the case, I think I can study better with my favorite light music.

    I also like visiting places of interest in China and in other countries, and enjoying nice food there. It helps me to know more about various people and places.

    My father doesn't know how to cook. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} If no one cooks for him, he doesn't eat anything.

    Today, my mother doesn't feel well. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} My mother and I are happy. My father says he will go shopping first.{#blank#}3{#/blank#}

    So my mother writes all the things on a piece of paper(-张纸) like this: ⒈cake; ⒉egg; ⒊tomato; ⒋milk; ⒌chicken.

    Then my father goes out.{#blank#}4{#/blank#} He brings out all the things: one cake, two eggs, three tomatoes, four bags of milk and five chickens!

    Sally was a student. It was going to be her mother's birthday. She wanted to buy her a present that would be nice and useful but not expensive.

    A week before her mother's birthday, she went shopping after a quick and simple lunch. When she had been looking for half an hour, she found a shop that was selling cheap umbrellas, and decided to take a black one, since her mother had lost hers the month before.

    She thought, "You could carry that when you are wearing clothes of any color." So she decided to buy a lovely black umbrella and took it back to the school with her until her classes were over.

    On her way back home in the train that evening she felt hungry because she had such a small lunch that she went along to the dining car for another sandwich and a cup of coffee. She had left the black umbrella above her seat in the compartment(车厢), but when she got back, it had gone! When she had left the compartment, there had been no other passengers (乘客) in it, but now there were three.

    Sally began to cry when she saw that the umbrella was no longer there. The other passengers felt very sorry for her and asked what the matter was. She told them that the black umbrella she had bought for her mother was gone, and that she had to get out at the next station. After the three other passengers heard it, they asked her for her mother's address so that they could send the umbrella to her if someone had taken it by mistake, and brought it back after Sally had got out of the train.

    The next week, Sally heard from her mother. It said, "Thank you very much for your lovely presents, but why did you send me three black umbrellas?"
