The students of seventh grade walked into the hall with laughter and voices. We were told to listen to a speech by Mrs. Marks about bullying(欺负) and peer pressure (同伴压力). During the whole year, our grade had listened to speeches on these topics over and over again. My friends and I sat back, preparing to sit through another  1 speech.

    But as soon as Mrs. Marks started talking, she caught my attention. She talked in the way as if she knew how to reach into our minds and make us  2. And for once, I actually began to think about what she was talking about.

    One boy, especially, came to my mind. Every day, this boy came to school late. The students in the class would always make fun of him. They said, "Hey, man! Where have you been?" And then another added a more unfriendly joke. Their jokes would continue until the teacher 3 them to stop. But it was always too late. The boy would put his head down on his desk in 4.

    I felt really sorry for this  5 boy. Then I turned my attention back to the speaker and listened carefully till the end.

    "Now, before I leave today, I would like to give everyone here an opportunity to say something on the subjects of bullying or peer pressure. You may apologize(道歉) to or thank someone. And I can promise that no one will 6 at you this time.

    The silence in the room made me believe her. Slowly I saw a few hands rise. One girl wanted to apologize to a friend, and another thanked a boy for his kindness. It was then that my moment of 7 happened. The speaker called on me, and I began to talk.

    "What you said today 8 makes sense. I know that it's true, because I see it every day in class. There is one person who is always made fun of." My voice shook, I think that everyone here has made fun of him. I know I have. And now I really 9 it. To us, it may just be a game, but to him, it must hurt. And I think well, I think we need to stop."

    There was a silence for several seconds, but then, clapping quickly spread through the crowd.

    Later that day, the boy thanked me . And from then on, the other students began to 10 him better. They stopped playing jokes on him and greeted him with a friendly "Hi". I was pleased I had voiced something that everyone was feeling.

    Last year I was very lucky to have a week's holiday. So I wanted to spend 1 in the best hotel I could find. That was 2 I chose The Haven in a country park. I thought I would be able to escape problems and pressures of daily life. But, just 24 hours after arriving there, my wife and I 3 problems with the restaurant and security.

    We were ready to return to our room when we saw two policemen 4  closely at the building outside. One of them showed us how 5 in through the windows into our room. It seems that the hotel has no locks on the windows. 6 we were a little worried, our concerns were forgotten 7 when we saw a good-sized bed, a flat-screen TV, a spa bath which more suggested a comfortable stay.

    Things started to go from bad to worse the following morning when I found the restaurant only served low-fat meals: six days of rabbit food and only 8 meat and fruit. What had I let myself in for? Nobody had told us what the food 9 like before we booked. I ordered my breakfast 10 my will anyway, but I had waited forty-five minutes for it to arrive. This was not the service 11 I had expected.

    That afternoon, when we returned from a tour around 12 university nearby, we found that nearly £200 13 from our room. The Haven refused to pay back the money. They claimed that they 14 not be responsible for any loss if our window was not locked.

    My holiday was then a total failure. I thought a "haven" was sure to be a quiet and peaceful place. But in fact, I have experienced 15 stress and worry in that one day than I usually do working in the office for a week.

Recently I had a trip to Sydney with my parents. We visited the Wildlife Park.

The Wildlife Park has lots of different animals. Some are native( 当地的 ) to Australia and can only be found there. There are more than 500 animals there, including kangaroos, koalas and crocodiles( 鳄鱼 ). They are kept in their natural environment. I like the Wildlife Park better than a zoo. In zoos, most of the animals are in cages( 笼子).

We first spent some time with the kangaroos. We could touch and feed them. It was very exciting to be so close to them. There were koalas there, too. They looked very cuddly(令人想拥抱的 ). Although we couldn't carry koalas, I could take a photo with one. It is a wonderful souvenir( 纪念品) of my holiday in Sydney.

The Wildlife Park has plenty of freshwater and saltwater crocodiles. Some of them are. very big and scary with huge teeth!I did not want to get too close to them.

There was also a bird show. The keepers showed us different species of birds. I saw an old parrot. It could " talk" and made a great impression on me.

I enjoyed the trip very much. There was so much to see.

Last Saturday, our class had a school trip. We decided{#blank#}1{#/blank#} (go)to the mountain. So, at 7:00 in the morning we got together {#blank#}2{#/blank#} the school gate. Then we {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (take) a bus there. At the foot of the mountain, there was a river. The water in it was clean and you could see some fish swim in it. And some of {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (I) classmates even tried to get the fish, {#blank#}5{#/blank#} they failed（失败）. We also saw quite a few special flowers by the river. They were very beautiful. And we did many {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(interest) things there and took lots of {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(photo). At 12 o'clock, we had lunch. The food was {#blank#}8{#/blank#}（real） great. After lunch, we walked up to the top of the mountain. There we could see the whole city, and{#blank#}9{#/blank#} looked wonderful. We all had {#blank#}10{#/blank#} good time there.
