    "If you go {#blank#}5{#/blank#}（slow）, "the boy said, "you will get there very soon. {#blank#}6{#/blank#} if you go fast, it will take you all day. ”

    "What a funny answer!" said the man. He did not{#blank#}7{#/blank#}（listen）to the boy. He made his horse run as fast as possible. Some coconuts fell off. He had to stop {#blank#}8{#/blank#}（pick）them up. Then he made his horse run fast again. But the coconuts fell off again, and he stopped again.

    He did this many {#blank#}9{#/blank#}（time）, and it was night when he finally got to his {#blank#}10{#/blank#}（friends）house.

    My friend Jenny has a great interest in {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(learn) English. One day, I found she was writing something and I walked over to her: she was studying the grammar—the using of "it".

    However, she covered(遮盖) it when I came by. I was very {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(surprise) and asked her, "What are you doing?" "Nothing," she answered {#blank#}3{#/blank#} a low voice.

    I didn't know why, did I{#blank#}4{#/blank#} (find) her "secret"? I just wanted to say "sorry". She replied, "Please don't laugh {#blank#}5{#/blank#} me." "I did not do that. Why do you think in that way?" Then she told me that her English was not good and she was a little shy in learning English before others. That was the reason {#blank#}6{#/blank#} she did not make any progress in the {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(speak) and written English. And I told her that no one would laugh at her in learning but {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(she)!

    Then I {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (give) her some advice on learning English. I asked her to try her best{#blank#}10{#/blank#} (show) her English in order to find her mistakes and tell some stories to her friends and write about the things that she does during the day, and then she could make some progress.

Luke Hayes-Alexander, 32 years old, looks like a typical eighteen-year-old boy. He speaks slowly and is quite shy. However, when he talks about food, he is different! "My life is about food shopping, preparing food and serving." Luke was the executive chef(行政主厨)of Luke's Gastronomy in Kingston, Canada, started by his parents in 1993. When he was a kid, he liked reading cookbooks. Soon, he started helping his father with cooking in the kitchen. At the age of fourteen, Luke left school and decided to learn more about food. Then, at the age of sixteen, he became the chef and started changing the small family restaurant into a center of creative dishes.

Luke cares about his ingredients(原料)a lot:  they all come from local(当地的): arms and he chooses them carefully. Everything in the restaurant is home-made. Even the wine in his restaurant is from his own vineyard(葡萄园)."I enjoy cooking. I hope every ingredient in my dishes is beautiful and fresh and that the customers will enjoy the taste of my food, "he said.

Luke is happy in Toronto. He has many plans and is already working on a new cookbook. And then he would also like to go to Europe in the future to find out more about cooking and talk with some famous cooks. What words does Luke have for other teenagers interested in cooking?" Have fun, get dirty, listen to some good music and cook!"

Mike is happy because he can ride his e- bike well. But he doesn't like 1 a helmet (头盔) when he rides it. His mum tells him that it is 2 , but he doesn't listen to her.

Then Mike heard a voice. "Don't listen to music or make phone calls 13 riding and driving! And remember to wear a helmet when riding a bike. It can help cut down the 14 of accidents," said a policeman. 

Mike learnt a lesson from the 15 ! "I will wear my helm et from now on," he said to himself.
