Do you feel lonely when your best friend isn't around? Here's our advice to you — and to all kids who feel lonely sometimes.

It's hard when a best friend isn't around — maybe because he or she moved to a different school or a different class. You may feel left out during breaks or lunchtime. You want to make new friends, but how do you find them? Maybe it seems like everybody else already has friends. But remember, there's always room for more friends.

Start by looking around your classroom — think about which kids you'd like to play with during breaks.! Look for chances to say hi to them, smile, and be friendly. Offer to share something or express your appreciation(欣赏)to them. Invite someone to play with you or say "Do you want to sit here?" in the lunchroom. When you're at a break, walk over to kids you want to play with, act in a friendly way, and say "Hi, may I join you?"or just join in.

If you have trouble doing this or if you're feeling shy, ask your teacher to help you make new friends. Teachers are usually pretty good at matching people up. The best way to make

friends is to be a friend. Being kind, being friendly, sharing, saying nice things, offering help — pretty soon, you'll have one, two or even more new friends.

You might still miss that special best friend. But when you see each other again, you can share something you didn't have before he or she left. You can introduce him or her to your new friends!

 请阅读下面短文,根据语篇内容,在空白处填入恰当的单词,使短文通顺、连贯,并将答案写在答题卡相应的位置上。每空一词

You need to learn new words to understand and express yourself clearly in English. However, learning new English words is hard for some of you. So {#blank#}1{#/blank#} can you learn English words faster? Here are some tips for you.

First of all, after learning some new words, you can write a short {#blank#}2{#/blank#} using all of these words. This way, you can better remember the spelling. What's more, you'll learn how to use the words in the right context(语境). This is also the best way to understand what they exactly {#blank#}3{#/blank#} in different contexts. And it's fun! You get to break away from the boring act of word learning and free your imagination(想象).

Another way to remember words is {#blank#}4{#/blank#} connecting them. For example, if you are trying to remember a word with a special ending like "-ment", think of other words with the same ending. This can help you remember lots of words all at once!

It's also fun to work together with your friends. Do some word guessing games or have competitions like spelling bees(拼字比赛) during the class breaks. These activities {#blank#}5{#/blank#} never boring! And you can learn English words more easily than reading through long word lists in textbooks.
