It will be great if there is some kind of fuel(燃料)we can use in cars that won't produce any  pollution. I guess there are scientists right now trying to do that, and I hope they'll succeed because the world would be a much cleaner place, wouldn't it?

Charlie

I think it will be great if they invent something so that we only have to sleep for one or two hours every day. Then we'd all have much more time to do things and to enjoy ourselves. Life would be better, I think, and everyone would do a lot more with their lives.

Miguel

It's not WASTE until it is WASTED

With the World Environment Day coming, our school is now requiring every student to form a habit of sorting the waste.

Here in our schoolyard we lay four different colors of rubbish bins for different kinds of rubbish. The red is for harmful waste; the blue is for waste that can be recycled(循环再用); the green is for kitchen waste; the yellow is for other waste.

The following are some instructions for you

Glass: Empty bottles without caps can be recycled to make new glass bottles.

Warning: Mirrors and light bulbs(电灯泡) must not be included in the glass waste.

Paper: Newspapers, magazines, boxes must be clean enough to be recycled.

Warning: Paper tissues (餐纸) and wall paper are not recyclable as paper and should be kept separately.

PMD waste: Packaging made of Plastic or Metal and Drink boxes are used to make new packaging.

Warning: Plastic pots(e. g yoghurt pots ), plastic bags must not be included with the PMD waste.

Harmful waste: out-of-date drugs, used batteries(电池), paint and oil…

Besides, if you don't need your old bikes at all, our school volunteers will collect them. We're going to fix them up and then give them away to kids who don't have enough money for a bike.

To find out more about recycling, you can visit our school website.

Do stars only appear at night? The answer is no .Venus (金星) is the one and only star that can be seen in the daytime. It shone at its brightest in the night sky on February 17th, 2017.

Venus is the second planet from the sun in our solar system. It is the second brightest natural object, behind Earth's moon, in the night sky. Why is it so bright?

First of all, Venus is the closest planet to Earth. It is also covered by highly reflective (反射的)clouds, which can reflect about 70 percent of the sunlight striking(照射) it, almost twice as much as Earth does.

Some called 2017 the year of Venus, because the planet is at its brightest when it goes further away from the sun, and nearer to Earth. The brightest moment happened once in February, and happened again, during daylight, on April 30th.

If Venus is so bright and close to us, isn't it a better choice for human exploration than Mars? It is closer to Earth than Mars and it's closer to Earth in size. The closer distance to the sun means solar power would be easier to generate (产生) as well.

However, with a temperature of about 465℃on the surface, Venus is the hottest planet in our solar system!

But scientists never give up. Recently, a team of NASA and Russian scientists created new computer equipment that can stand the temperature of 480℃. It can work under Venus-like conditions for almost 22 days.

The next step, according to the scientists, is to send a probe(探测器)to Venus by 2025.
