Kate's Hobby

My name is Kate. I have always wanted to have my own hobby. Until high school, I didn't get a hobby, although I tried many clubs. Last year, my friend  {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (邀请) me to a photo exhibition. At the exhibition, I saw a group of photos by a local  {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (艺术家) who told his life experiences with photos. I suddenly realized that what was  {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (珍贵的) than the photo itself was the story behind the photo, and I became interested in photography. 

Since then, I have dreamed  {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (发明；创造) fantastic works to tell my own life stories. However, I couldn't  {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (付得起) to buy a camera then. Luckily, my grandfather gave me one on my birthday. Then I started taking photos everywhere. I put my photos on the  {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (架子) in my room. My photos have kept my memories of wonderful old days. Taking photos has also become another way for me  {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (交流) with the world. 

Through {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (每日的) practice, my photography skills have improved greatly. So far my photos  {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (赢得) many prizes and I'm really proud of myself. {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (也许) I will hold my own photo exhibition one day.

When I moved to America in the 7th grade, I did not speak any English. I had no choice but to keep working hard. Although I made1 when I reached the 9th grade, people still found it difficult to understand me because of my accent (口音).

Many children feel that the most important people in their lives are their friends. They believe that family members don't know them as well as their friends. In large families, it is quite often for brothers and sisters to fight with each other and then can go to their friends for some ideas. 

It is very important for children to have one or more good friends. Even when they are not with their friends, they usually spend a lot of time talking on the phone with them. This communication is very important to children's growth, because friends can discuss something, but it is difficult to discuss it with family members. However, most parents like to choose friends for their children to meet their good friends.

But life was not always easy, especially at the beginning. Louis Armstrong was born in 1900 in New Orleans. His father {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (从不) went to school and his mother could hardly read. When Louis was still a kid, his parents separated, and Louis lived with his mother. How hard their life was can be imagined. And yet Louis smiled through everything. He later wrote, " My whole life has been happiness. Life was there for me and I accepted it. {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (无论什么) happened has been beautiful to me. I love everybody. "

With the development of the technology, China has made a big progress in the space. As a middle school student, 

"You pretty, he ugly(丑陋). You swan(天鹅), he frog(青蛙)!" Foreign people just love this funny English sentence(句子) going around the Chinese Internet.

It all started when a foreign girl named Kris posted a sad photo online. It looked like her boyfriend made her cry. Some nice Chinese people tried to cheer her up. They asked her to find someone better. Some made funny Chinglish to make her feel happy, such as "You swan, he frog." This became a hit with foreigners. Many found it cool. After learning that it came from the famous old Chinese story of the beautiful swan and the ugly toad(癞蛤蟆), they shared it a lot online and made funny pictures with it.

In the past, people often corrected(纠正) those who spoke Chinglish because it was full of grammar errors(语法错误). However, with globalization(全球化), people from different countries can now share their ideas more often. Different styles of speaking English are becoming common. For example, the well-known "add oil" has now appeared in the Oxford dictionary and people use it widely. The expression(表达) shows Chinese culture.

"Once I understood the full meaning, it became much funnier," said Cody, a young man from New Zealand, when asked about "you swan, he frog". "It's great that more Chinese culture is being shared with the rest of the world," he told China Daily.
