    Many people thought a computer wasn't supposed to be able to beat a top master at the ancient Chinese game, Weiqi, for at least another 10 years. The game of Go was one of the four greatest artistic types in Chinese culture. It is not only a competitive event of the mind, but also a board game amusing ourselves.

Created in China more than four thousand years ago. Go was introduced to Korea and Japan over 1,000 years ago, and has become a favorite activity of many people there. Today, Go still serves as a way of cultural exchange among the people in many Eastern and Western countries, as players in these countries take part in many international games every year.

A game of Go has many implications (含义) for real life. It represents a square world of round pieces in black and white. There are 181 black pieces and 180 white ones in total. While the board is fixed, the pieces can be placed in millions upon millions of different ways, just as life in the real world may take many turns. The proper placement of each tiny Go piece is similar to how one might solve a difficult problem in life.

Go pays much attention to peaceful competition and coexistence (共存). In a game of Go, the players do not wipe out (消灭) each other's pieces. Instead, they simply try to win a larger share of space while allowing the other side some space. However, in chess and Chinese chess, the players try to wipe out as many of the other side's pieces as possible. The one who forces the other side's commander (主帅) into a dead corner then wins the game. Besides, Go carries deeper cultural and philosophical connotations (哲学内涵).

Wu Qingyuan (1914-2014), a modern Go talent, believed that instead of fighting as enemies, the two players work together to play an excellent game and try to achieve peace finally.

Hug a tree

 We know that spending time in nature reduces stress and improves our mood. We also know that the act of hugging ourselves or another living thing can improve our well-being. So, why not try to mix the two together? That's exactly what hugging a tree does! Read on to learn more about the benefits(益处) of hugging a tree!

{#blank#}1{#/blank#}

 It is well known that trees produce oxygen(氧气). So, when you are close to a tree and hug it in a forest, you are naturally in a more oxygen-rich environment. You are also more likely to be breathing in fewer pollutants(污染物).

{#blank#}2{#/blank#}

 One study tound that when we experience nature— whether by hiking in nearby mountains or simply looking at trees and birds on the way to work— we can increase our heart rate variability(可变性). This can lower the risks of many heart-related diseases.

{#blank#}3{#/blank#}

 Trees' positive effects on our mental health have been well documented. Feeling grounded or connected to nature can reduce anxiety and depression(抑郁). When you hug a tree, you become grounded to its powerful roots, receiving energy that can help to fight seasonal depression.

{#blank#}4{#/blank#}

 Trees are one of nature's greatest stress-reducers. When you hug a tree, you receive grounding energy through its roots. This has proven effective for people who have high levels of anxiety or fear, or those who suffer from nervousness and worry.

 If you don't have a tree in your yard, visit the local park or the botanic gardens or hike in the closest woodlands. Find a tree that speaks to you or is impressive in its appearance. Go, give it a hug.

A. Improve heart health

B. Take a fresh breath

C. Fight against depression

D. Reduce stress

What is the writing purpose of the passage?(不少于五个词。) {#blank#}5{#/blank#}
