①April 2nd is World Autism Day. What is autism? Autism is caused by pervasive developmental disorder . Here are main behavior characteristics  of autism.

②Social communication disorder, live only in their own world.

③Language communication disorder, difficult to communicate with people around.

④Repeat strange movements often, unable to accept the changes of familiar environment.

⑤From three characteristics above, people with autism have lots of trouble communicating. They look like normal people, but they experience the world in a very unique way. That is to say, the way how they deal with things and understand the world is not the same as normal people.

⑥Nowadays, the number of autism is 67 million all over the world. One in 160 children is autistic. A school in England for children with autism is finding a new use for virtual reality  and VR headsets. Priors Court is a kind of school in Berkshire, southern England. The teachers at school are using high technology to help and learn more about children with autism. As children with autism have problems with places and situations they haven't experienced before well, they like what is familiar and they like their routine . VR headsets make the wearers feel like they are in different places. For example, someone wearing a VR headset can have a 360-degree view of a place as they turn around. With the video, they can even hear the sounds of the place. Teachers are using VR to introduce children to situations like visiting a shopping mall or getting on a plane. They can do so in the safety of their classroom. In addition to getting used to everyday different places in the real world, the children may learn to enjoy new experiences such as skiing or deep-sea diving.

⑦A computer teacher, Nuno Guerreiro from the school said, "We' re trying a new data  collection system with VR headsets at the same time. The system puts together information about each child every day: what they have eaten, how much sleep and exercise they have had and all their activities. Then it compares those facts to know how they are behaving for medical treatment." Guerreiro added the school hoped to share what it learned. "Hope to not only improve people to know more about the treatment and research of the autism, but also draw people's attention to care about autism."

Inventions are very important and they can easily change our life. The followings are some great inventions.

The television was invented in 1925. As time passed,more and more people were able to buy the television. It is a popular invention,but it is also bad for your eyes. People spend almost 4~8 hours in front of a TV while they spend less than 2 hours staying with their family.

The plane was invented in 1903. It is a very popular way of going out either for travelling or business. Over 3,000,000 people take a plane every day. It is very convenient for us. And it makes our trip faster and more comfortable. But the biggest problem led by the planes is the air pollution.

Credit cards were started in 1915. They allow people to buy things first and pay for them later. What's more,you don't have to carry lots of money around. You can know what you have bought by credit cards. However,you may not know how much money you have spent until you get your bill. This might put many young people and families into an economic crisis(经济危机).

The pacemaker(心脏起搏器) began to be used in 1932. It saves many people's lives. It was an invention that was designed to give the heart small "shocks" and make it work again. The only disadvantage(缺点) for most people is that it costs a lot of money. Getting one can cost from 16,500 yuan to 35

Health problems which are related to climate change are getting worse, say two research reports.

The report s followed 44 health problems that are related to climate change around the world. They include heat deaths, infectious diseases(传染病)and hunger. "All of them are getting worse," said Marina Remanello. She is research director of the Lancet Countdown project. "With global worming getting worse, doing nothing on climate and health will cost more than acting now, one of the reports says.

The reports are called "code red for a healthy future". One report is centred(集中)on the US and the other is centred on the whole world. The reports found some dangerous facts. At-risk populations like older people and the very young are more easily influenced by high temperatures. For people over 65, the researchers found they stayed living in warm places where it is easier for some diseases to spread. For example, coast areas are warm enough for dangerous bacteria (细菌)to grow. In some poor nations me season for disease-spreading mosquitoes(蚊子)has got longer since the 1950s.

The research also found that 72 percent of countries saw an increase in wildfires. And in 2020, up to 10 percent of the world's land surface was influenced by extreme(极端的)drought. In the US, the heat. fire and drought caused the biggest problems. The Pacific Northwest and Canada saw extreme neatwaves. An earlier study found that the heatwaves would not have happened if there were no human-caused climate change.

Imagine you are going to give a speech the next day.The night before, you spend a lot of time thinking about the possible mistakes you might make and whether you're prepared enough. Well, you might be overthinking.

Overthinking means going over the same thought again and again, analyzing( 分 析 ) the simplest situations or events too much.

According to The Conversation, overthinking comes from one of our primitive instincts(原始 本能). The primitive mind will always see things in the worst possible light.Our brains are always looking for threats(威胁), to make a plan to deal with those threats and keep us safe.

Some people believe that overthinking may be helpful because it helps us look at a problem from every possible angle(角度) and get ready for what might happen. However, research suggests that overthinking can make us stressed, anxious(焦虑的) and depressed (忧郁的).

What's more, overthinking might create problems with how you get along with others.As you think the worst, make incorrect guesses, or worry about every little thing others do and say, you might misunderstand their intentions(意图).

So, instead of sitting and thinking about a problem again and again, you can distract(转移注意 力)yourself for a bit. Your brain might find better ways to solve the problem while you're doing something fun, like gardening(园艺), or even while you're sleeping.

Also, when you find yourself overthinking, challenge these thoughts. Ask yourself if they make sense and think about other possibilities.It can be hard at first,but recognizing that you are overthinking can help you make a change.
