A Good Idea

There was asign on the bridge. It says, "Danger! Low(低的)  bridge." But the driver of the van did not see it. When he drove the van through the bridge , there came a terrible noise(声音), and the van suddenly stopped just under the bridge.

The driver tried to drive the van back, but he couldn't move it. The men passing by tried to help him move the van out of the bridge. They pushed(推)and pushed ,but they could not move the van back.

The driver telephoned a garage(修理厂) and, a few minutes later, a truck gothere from the garage. The man from the truck tied(拴) the van to the truck. Then he tried to use the truck to pull(拉) the van out. The truck pulled, and the men pushed, but the van did not move at all.

The men got very tired and stopped pushing. Other people were angry because they could not move their cars. No one knew what to do. Then a little girl had an idea. She pulled the truck driver's armand wanted to say something to him. The truck driver did not notice(注意)her, but the girl pulled his arm again. This time the truck driver listened, and the little girl said something in his ear.

There was a smile on the truck driver's face. He nodded(点头) when he was listening to the girl's words. He went to the van and pressed(按压) the mouths on the van's tyres(轮胎),The air came out and the van began to come down. Then the van's driver drove the van out easily.

The students in Sabrina's school ate breakfast and lunch at school. The teachers wanted students to have 1 meals. They had an idea: students could 2 food in the school's greenhouse for themselves or the neighborhood.

In Sabrina's hometown, people started to grow 3 and fish together hundreds of years ago. The fish poop (粪便) in the water help grow the plants and plants help clean the water 4 .

People are spending much money buying mystery boxes (盲盒) these days. Usually, there are toys in mystery boxes, but now shops are putting food in them. They are "leftover mystery boxes". 

They are more and more popular in China's cities, such as Beijing, Nanjing and Chengdu. The food inside is near its expiration date (保质期) and will be thrown away if no one buys it. 

Each box costs little money but has a lot of food inside. I buy leftover mystery boxes from an app called Too Good To Go. Each box costs about 3 to 5 pounds (27 to 45 yuan), and there are usually three to four things inside. For example, a box I buy from the coffee shop has three kinds of bread and one cake. The box costs 3 pounds but the original price (原价) is around 10 pounds. Every time I buy a mystery box, I feel happier thinking about how much money I can save. Wasting less food is also good for the environment. 

But the boxes also bring me problems. Because I can't choose what's in the box, sometimes I get the same kind of food. Also, the food may not be nutritious (有营养的) enough. I have to make other dishes, such as a salad, to make the meal healthier. 

Martin shook his money box again. Nothing! He carefully counted the 1 that lay on the bed. 32 dollars was all that he had. The 2 he wanted was at least 100 dollars! 3 on earth was he going to get the rest of the money?

He knew that his friends all had bicycles. It was 4 to hang around with people when you were the only one without wheels. He 5 what he could do. There was no 6 asking his parents, for he knew they had no money to spare.

Our teacher asked us to {#blank#}1{#/blank#} {#blank#}2{#/blank#}a form about our favourite books and why we like the books. As I finished it, my mind{#blank#}3{#/blank#} {#blank#}4{#/blank#} {#blank#}5{#/blank#}the stories from the books. I had read before. This form not only helped the teacher learn more about us, but also made me think of my reading journey.
