I still remember the day when my first grandchild, Noah, was born in the hospital. The room was full of1 from the family. And we hugged each other in excitement and wished he would grow up healthily like other babies. But things didn't go2 as planned. Noah faced lots of health problems from the very beginning. And doctor told us that he would3 to grow up healthily, which broke our hearts. Noah wasn't able to suck (吮吸) like most babies. He couldn't eat on his own. So doctors had to give him a feeding tube (胃食管) just to keep him4 . It was heartbreaking for us to see him go through so much5 . But we lived positively (every day 6 complained about the unfairness. Because we realized we should7 the things life gives us.

Noah is a special and excellent boy. He has come a long way since those early days. He has faced many8 and achieved so much. Today is his 13% birthday. We held a big party outdoors. Many relatives and friends accepted our invitation,9 this party on time. We were thankful that we10 together when facing difficulties. Family is where life begins and love never ends.

Kate and Jim are wife and husband. Like many New Age Travellers, they don't live in a house,1 in a truck. For about three years 2 moved around the country with other travellers. Now their daughter, Lucy, is four years old, and Kate wants to 3 their life and come back to the city. 

But Jim likes to 4 his life travelling around. They think they should live on the road. "We have a lot of good friends around us. We live in the open air. 5 fresh the air is! If we like a place, we stay 6 some time. If we don't like it, we move on. I don't like living in cities. There I must  7 in a small box and you should work hard all your time to get enough money to live. That's not life. We should 8 away from cities. Lucy is a nice girl. She can learn real things about life with us on the 9 ," Jim says. 

"Yes, I find this way of life 10 than city life. Travelling is interesting in spring and summer. But 11 is always difficult. It is so cold that Lucy gets ill every winter. The most 12 thing, I think, is that Lucy needs a good education (教育) in school. She also needs to have her own friends and a normal life like 13 kids. That 14 we must live in one place. Shall we move 15 to the city or not?" says Kate. Then Jim loses himself in thought …

 When Mancina was young, he would skateboard during the winter seasons. At the beginning, he knew nothing {#blank#}1{#/blank#} skateboarding and couldn't play it so well. It wasn't until he moved to a different neighbourhood and met a group of {#blank#}2{#/blank#} ( skate) that Mancina began to truly love skating. 

 However, at just thirteen years old, doctors told Mancina that he had an eye problem. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} just a year and a half, he lost vision in his left eye. Mancina stopped skateboarding. After a few years, he picked up the board again and {#blank#}4{#/blank#} ( film) a video of himself skateboarding with the help of a cane(杖). The video {#blank#}5{#/blank#} ( share) online. It made Mancina decide to return to the sport although he is now {#blank#}6{#/blank#} ( complete) blind. 

"Being a blind skater, I have to take my time to feel obstacles(障碍物) and have a good understanding of {#blank#}7{#/blank#} ( it) before I start skating, " said Mancina. "I depend on my white cane the most. I use it to know my environment and to find obstacles while skating. "

Mancina hopes to perform at the Paralympics in 2028. His future plans include breaking his own record and building a skate park. Once it's built, he {#blank#}8{#/blank#} ( introduce) blind kids to the world of skating. 

On a recent Saturday morning, an excited crowd gathered together on San Francisco's waterfront.  They were watching in amazement as bubble (气泡) artist Kurth Reis slowly drew a large bubble from his bucket (桶) and released it into the air.  Several minutes later, the bubble suddenly popped.  A little girl in the crowd jumped and clapped.  She turned to Reis, eager for another show.  The "bubble man" had succeeded once again in bringing a little bit of joy to others.  

The 49-year-old traveled a rocky path to his new "job".  In 2018, Reis, then a deliveryman, had a serious motorcycle accident.  The man had several operations.  Each time he woke up after an operation, he felt like he had been "reborn".  Following 88 days in the hospital, he felt ready to start a new life.  In 2020, COVID-19 fled his city with sorrow.  Reis thought about what he could do to help make people feel happy again.  He turned to soap and learned to make large bubbles.  

Last year, Reis began performing his art form in parks across San Francisco.  People started to call him the "bubble man".  Some of them give him tips, but the man says he doesn't care about the money.  Reis feels that his art is useful in more important ways.  Not long ago, a woman spoke to him after watching one of his performances.  She told him that she had been very sad ever since her father's death.  Seeing his "joyful" bubbles, however, made her feel much better.  

 "I can't save the world.  I'm not trying to," Reis says.  "But by making some bubbles, I can put a smile on somebody's face. "
