One day, a crow (乌鸦) saw a swan (天鹅) on the beach. He laughed at him and said, "Can you fly as fast as I do? Do you have as many flying skills as I do? How stupid you are!"

Hearing this, the swan thought the crow needed to be taught a lesson. He had an idea.

He asked the crow, "Do you dare to compete with me? The competition will take place in two stages. In the first stage, you can show your flying skills, and I will do the same. In the second stage, you should copy what I will do."

The crow said proudly, "It's too easy!"

The competition started. At first, the crow showed different ways of flying. But the swan could do nothing. Next, the second stage began. The swan flew to the sea. The crow followed him. "Is this all you can do?" the crow asked. The swan just flew silently. He flew slowly, but didn't stop. After flying a long distance (距离), the crow was so tired that he could hardly fly and almost fell into the sea.

Seeing this, the swan said to the crow, "You have flying skills, while I have good endurance (耐力). Everyone has his own strong and weak points." Hearing the swan's words, the crow's face turned red and he hung his head. He regretted (后悔) laughing at the swan.

My name is Tim and I'm 13 years old. My 1 are great and I love them and I know they love me. However, they never understand my feelings and needs. My parents grew up in a 2 environment, and sometimes I feel like they're trying to raise (抚养) me in that way. They won't allow me to go to a friend's home or hang out with a friend 3 they don't know the person's parents. It's really embarrassing (令人难堪的) when I tell my friends that I can't 4 them. My parents want to know me better, so they read my 5 . They say I shouldn't have any secrets (秘密) in this family.

 Zhu Yanjun is a migrant worker ( 农民工) from northwest China's Gansu Province. Recently the 50-year-old man took part in the 2023 Chinese Poetry Congressand won the second place in the final. 

 Zhu was born in a family of farmers. As a young boy, Zhu would help his father do farm work after finishing classes. In 1983, as a first grader in a primary school, he met poetry for the first time in a Chinese class. Since then, he has been in love with poems. 

 After noticing Zhu's interest, his father spent some money buying him poetry collections though his family was poor. During junior high school, some of his classmates dropped out of school and moved to other cities to look for jobs. Zhu listened to them talking about the outside world during holidays. "I also want to leave my hometown to explore the world. " he said. 

 After graduating from junior high school in 1992, Zhu stopped his schooling. He began to work as a migrant worker. But he did not stop reading poems. In the past years, Zhu has worked in seven cities in China. Whenever he arrives in a city, he first visits the bookstores and libraries there. Although he is busy working during the day, he spends his time at noon and in the evening reading poems. He knows over 1000 poems by heart and the lines help him keep a calm mind. 

 In 2023, with the encouragement of his wife, Zhu decided to sign up for the 2023 Chinese Poetry Congress. To his surprise, he made it to the final. Under his influence, his son and daughter have developed a great interest in poetry. They have been accepted by universities away from their hometown. "I hope more people will also fall in love with poetry. " said Zhu, adding that he will continue learning poetry. 

Five years ago, my mother, gave birth to a brother for me when I was 8. I have learned a lot from getting along with him. 

After he was born, I almost became a babysitter. I had to amuse him after school. I would make faces and sing to him when he was crying. Sometimes I even carried him everywhere in our yard to refresh him while my parents were busy. What I liked to do best was to feed him when looking after him. How cute he was as he tasted his favorite food! My parents often praised me happily, " As an elder brother, you've made contributions to looking after your younger brother. "

I have got happiness from sharing. When I was young, I was the only child in my family. I could get what I wanted from my parents and get my parents' whole love. I was a "Little Emperor". 

But now, as long as I get something good, I will share it with him. I remembered the year when he was three, he was fond of Rubik's cubes(魔方). I bought one for him with my lucky money as a birthday present When he got the toy, he was so happy that he laughed, hugged me and said, "Brother, I love you!

Thanks for spending these years together, with my family. It has taught me what responsibility means, what unselfishness means and what friendship means. 

Not only should I look after myself, but also I should pay attention to my family and my friends. 

My uncle is an English teacher at a middle school in Shanghai. Both he and his classes are 1 among the students. Most of his students like English. Last month my uncle 2 his story of learning English with me.
