"Face it，Andy．You sold your heart the day you put on that first pair of Jimmy Choo's．"That line from the movie The Devil Wears Prada is an example showing how a shoemaker has become famous in the fashion world．

    Jimmy Choos （Zhou Yangjie）was born in Malaysian and he is a Malaysian Chinese，born in 1961 into a family of shoemakers．He created his first pair of shoes at age 11．His family couldn't pay for his schooling，so he dropped out at a young age．He had to work with his father to support the family．But his dream to be a fashion designer never disappeared，so he did all he could to enter an art college and finally took up a position in the fashion world through his talent and willpower．

    Choo graduated from a college in London and had a small workshop there．He hit the international fashion scene when Vogue magazine described his designs in eight pages in 1988．His work was immediately popular and got love and support from Diana，Princess of Wales．

    Jimmy Choo shoes are known for their very high heels（鞋跟）and pointed toes．However，he does some flats and lower﹣heeled shoes for other women．Choo co﹣founded Jimmy Choo Ltd．with Tamara Mellon，UK Vogue editor，but left the company in 2001．

    Jimmy Choo shops have opened around the world，so his designs are easier to get to those who want a designer shoe，and can afford his prices．Choo also has a website where shoppers can view his ready to wear designs．The brand（牌子）of Jimmy Choo has been comparable to top brands，like Channel，LV，etc．But it's still young and has a bright future．

    We can't imagine how hard it is for Choo to stand out in the worldwide fashion! He must have made greater efforts and had more difficulties than others．And so he did．So stop complaining about why good luck isn't always falling on you and devote yourselves to your work now．

    Zhang Lin is a middle school student. He is a good boy. Uncle Wu lives next to him. Uncle Wu has no child and can't see anything. He works in the factory (工厂) near Zhang Lin's school. He goes to work at 7:30 in the morning and comes home at 4:30 in the afternoon. Zhang Lin walks to school at 8:00 in the morning and comes home at the same time as Uncle Wu in the afternoon. On weekdays Zhang Lin gets up early to take Uncle Wu to the factory. After school he takes him home. On Sundays Zhang Lin helps Uncle Wu clean the house and do some cooking. Uncle Wu thanks Zhang Lin very much. He says, “Zhang Lin is a good boy. He is like my son.”

    There is a famous American writer called Jack London. He was born on January 12, 1876 in San Francisco, California. His family was very poor, and Jack had to leave school to make money. He worked very hard in many different jobs.

    Later Jack returned to school, but he didn't stay there. In 1897, he went to Alaska (阿拉斯加) to look for gold. He didn't find any gold. Instead (代替), he found ideas for his books and stories. He returned home and started to write. His writings were so successful that he became rich and famous in his twenties.

    But Jack London was not a happy man. In poor health he took his own life in 1916. He was only 40 years old.

I went on a trip many years ago. It {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(be) a long trip over the sea from Somalia to Malaysia. I still remember it {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(good).

I was{#blank#}3{#/blank#} 8-year-old girl. My family and I got on a small boat. I didn't know{#blank#}4{#/blank#} I was going. I only heard my parents say, "We just leave Africa; that's enough."

My dad {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(drive) the boat on the sea. I was ill and I was in my mother's arms. After my mother woke me up, she {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(point) to the ocean. There I saw the sea and the sky all around my boat. There were lots {#blank#}7{#/blank#} big dolphins swimming together. They swam around our boat and played. I felt very {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(excite).

After several days, my family {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(get) to Malaysia, and then we flew to the United States, My father and mother told me this was a very {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(danger) trip, but for me it was the most wonderful trip of my life. I'll never forget it.

I can't forget that day. It was a cold snowy morning after the winter vacation. I got up early and went to a new school. It is the most famous one{#blank#}1{#/blank#}(在....之中) middle schools in New York. I was walking alone slowly and worried about lots of things because it was the first time for me to stay{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(在国外). It was early, so it was{#blank#}3{#/blank#} (寂静的) outside. 

Suddenly a girl who was riding her bike got into trouble. She fell off the bike and tried hard to get up but she{#blank#}4{#/blank#}(未能达到). Without thinking, I went over and helped her. She said "thank you" with a smile and then rode away. Her words warmed me a lot. 

Finally, I got to school. The teacher introduced me to the{#blank#}5{#/blank#}(全部的) class. Then he asked me to sit down beside a girl. I felt so nervous that I didn't look at her. Soon the bell

{#blank#}6{#/blank#}(响铃). Their{#blank#}7{#/blank#}(课本) were different from those at my old school. While I was{#blank#}8{#/blank#}(考虑) asking the teacher for help, an English book appeared in front of me. "Let's share," the friendly girl said. To my surprise, it was the girl! Later on, we became good friends. 

I learnt: To help others is actually to help{#blank#}9{#/blank#}(我们自己). It makes {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(道理) of my life by not only knowledge but also experience.
