Liu Tao: What's the time now, Yang Ling?

Yang Ling: It's four thirty. It's time to go home.

Liu Tao: It's raining(下雨).Where is my umbrella?

Yang Ling:Look!There's a red umbrella under the desk.

Liu Tao:That isn't my umbrella.

Yang Ling:There are four umbrellas near the blackboard. Which one is yours（你的），Liu Tao?

Liu Tao:The blue one. Thank you, Yang Ling.

Yang Ling:Shall we go home together？

Liu Tao:Great!Let's go.

    An old woman is going shopping with a basket , she is going by boat . The boat is going across the river. Her basket is empty now. Oh , dear! Look ! Her basket is in the water. She says , " Oh ,no .My basket is in the river."

    A boy sees the basket .He says ,"Don't worry ! I can get it !"He takes off his shirt and shoes . " Look after them for me , please!" he says , and jumps into the river.

    A duck sees the basket . " I can go by basket ," it thinks . It gets into the basket and goes on swimming in the river ."Where's the basket ?" he asks.

    It's over there !" answers the woman ."It's behind you! It's under that duck ."Then the boy gets to the basket.

    "Go away!" he says to the duck. The duck comes out of the basket and goes away .The boy takes the basket back to the woman .

    "Oh, thank you very much ."says the woman .

    "Not at all !"says the boy . " Do you have my shirt and shoes , please?"

    "It's the duck's egg.

One day, a tall man (M) Tom and a short woman (W) Rose are talking in the room.

M: When do you go to work every day, Rose?

W: At 7: 45, Tom.

M: Do you walk there?

W: No, I always get there by bicycle. What about you?

M: I go to work on foot. Which subject do you teach?

W: I teach Music. But I can't play the piano well. How about you?

M: I teach P. E. , because I'm a P. E. teacher.

W: Do you often play football after school?

M: Yes, I like playing it very much. It's interesting.

W: I don't like playing football. It's too difficult for me.

    Hello, my name is Sam. I like English very much. My favourite food is salad. It's delicious. My favourite drink is tea. It's healthy. I can sing English songs and play the pipa. Today is Saturday. I often read books, do my homework and wash my clothes on Saturdays. What do you do on weekends?

    Tom is a very old man. After dinner(晚餐) ,he likes walking in the street. And he goes to bed at seven o'clock.

    But tonight, a car stopped at his house. A policeman helps him get out. He tells Tom's wife," The old man couldn't find his way in the street. He asked me to take him home in my car. "

    After the policeman leaves (离开) there, his wife asks, "Tom, you go to that street every night. But tonight you can't find the way, what's the matter?"

    The old man smiles like a child and says, "I couldn't find my way? I didn't want to walk home. "

    John's family was very poor. He had three brothers and four sisters. Their parents loved them very much. When he finished middle school, he got a special present from his father. "Many friends got new clothes. Someone got cars as presents, John said. "I ran home and asked my father what present could get. Father got something out of his pocket. Then he gave it to me. It was a coin!"

    "I felt very sad." Father said to me, "Buy a newspaper with the coin, read it carefully and find a job for yourself. Go to the world. The world is yours now." I always think it was a joke. I was unhappy for a long time. Many years later, after I became the manager of a big computer company, I understand my father. My friends got just clothes or even cars. I got the world. It was the best present.
