A fine day
Today is Sunday. It is a fine day. There are some clouds in the sky, but the sun is shining. Mr. Wood doesn't work today. He is with his family. Now they are walking over the bridge. There are a big ship. The ship is going under the bridge. Mr. Wood and his wife are looking at them. Their son Danny is looking at some boats. These boats are on the river. Their daughter Lily is looking at a train. The train is running over the river.
Christmas is on December 25th. It's time for the family to get together and celebrate. On Christmas, people usually decorate a Christmas tree in their houses. They also sing carols and give presents.
On Christmas Eve, children put stockings out for Santa Claus. On Christmas Day, children open the stockings and presents. Later, families eat Christmas dinner together.
Many families also go to church on Christmas to remember Jesus' birthday. Jesus was born on December 25th. Wise men visited Jesus and gave him presents.
There are many mice in a house. The man of the house gets a cat. The cat kills many of the mice. The oldest mouse says, "All the mice must come to my room and we will think what we can do about this cat."
All the mice come. Many mice speak, but none knows what to do. At last a young mouse stands up and says, "We must put a bell on that cat. Then the cat will not catch any more mice." Then the old mouse asks, "Who will put the bell on the cat?" No mouse answers. At last he says, "It is easy to say things, but it is hard to do them."
