I am Cindy Miller. I like playing sports very much. I think it is a good way to keep healthy.

    I have many good friends. I often play basketball with them after school. I don't have a basketball, but my friend Jim has one. So we often use(使用) his basketball.

    Today is June 1st, and it is Children's Day. My father buys my brother Mike a new basketball. He is six years old. He just plays it on the floor at home. I want to use his new basketball. So I say to him," Hi, Mike. May I use your basketball this afternoon?" "No, you can't," he says to me. I am very sad. My father comes to him and says, "Dear boy, you should share your things with others. Then you can be a good boy. "Then he gives the basketball to me.

Mr. Taylor loves fishing. It is his favorite sport. He often fishes for hours without catching anything. But this doesn't get in the way {#blank#}1{#/blank#} his hobby. He still likes sitting by the river {#blank#}2{#/blank#} ( patient) day by day.

At the 17th Paralympic Games(残奥会) in Paris, Liu Yu, a 35- year- old disabled swimmer, was1 after winning the third place in the women's backstroke 50m(女子50米仰泳).

Liu was born with illness and couldn'2 . She had to use a wheelchair and stayed in a children's hospital.3 , the elder kids in the hospital cared for this young girl. Like her 4 , they taught her to be strong.

At the age of 15, Liu had the chance to learn how to swim and showed her talent in the pool." I loved the feelings of 5 and was not scared at all. It was so wonderful to move 6 without having to use legs."

Mrs. Grady welcomed her class back into the warm, cheerful room. The children sat down at their desks, still talking about what they did over winter vacation. It took a few minutes for Mrs. Grady to get them 1 down. 

 "I'm glad to see you all back! Since it's the 2 of the new year, I thought we'd talk about something people do at this time. It's called making resolutions. Does anyone know what that means?" Mrs. Grady asked.

Then Emma asked, "What about being nicer?" Mrs. Grady smiled. "Yes, being 13 is a wonderful resolution."

Lots of hands went up. The students were excited to 14 all the different sports and activities they took part in or would be starting soon. 

"Those are all 15 of good resolutions. Now, I want each of you to write about a resolution you could make this year." The children got to work.
