Today(今天) is my birthday(生日). I'm nine today. This is my friend. Ben. He's nine, too. That's my teacher Miss Fang. She's hungry. Look! What is that? It's a birthday cake. A cake, Miss Fang? Yes, please. A cake, Ben? No, thanks. An ice-cream, Ben? Yes, please. I'm thirsty.

    I have a new schoolbag.It's black and red.There are some books in the bag.An English book, a Chinese book, a maths book and four storybooks.I like storybooks very much.Look! This is my new pencil box.It's white and pink.There are two pencils and a pen in the pencil box.I like them.

    I have a beautiful house. There is a bike in front of the house. We have a big tree. My grandparents are under the tree. They have a rest. In my house, there is a photo on the wall. Our cute dog is behind the door. The table is between two chairs.

    One day there are four blind men under a tree. They are talking about elephants. An old man is riding an elephant past them(经过他们身边). He lets them touch it. A blind man touches the ear. He says the elephant is like a fan(扇子). A blind man touches the tail. He says the elephant is like a rope(绳子). A blind man touches the leg. He says the elephant is like a tree trunk(树干). A blind man touches the body. He says the elephant is like a wall. What about you?

    Two hundred years ago, there were no telephones or mobile phones in China. People wrote letters to get in touch with their friends or relatives.

    Once there was an old woman, she lived alone in a village. Her son was working in the city. One night she missed her son. She could not get sleep. She wanted to write a letter to him. But she could not read or write. After some time she got up and knocked on her neighbour's door.

    “Mr. Lee, could you please write a letter to my son for me?" she asked. It was the middle of the night and Mr. Lee wanted to sleep. He didn't get up or open the door. He said loudly to the woman, I wish I could help you but I have a problem. My handwriting is very bad at night. Only I can read it. If I write the letter now, I'll have to visit your son and read the letter to him. Maybe you should come back tomorrow.”

Friday, June 21st

    Tomorrow my family will visit my grandparents.

    My grandparents live on a farm. There are many animals and vegetables. I miss the little lamb. It' s cute and its fleece(羊毛) is white as(像…….一样) snow. There are fifteen piglets(猪仔), too. I lie the carrots on the farm. They are good for me.

    The weather report says tomorrow it will be sunny and hot in the morning, but rainy in the afternoon. So I will wear my new skirt and my straw(草) hat. And don't forget my umbrella

    We will drive to the farm early, so "good night" my dear diary!
