Life（生活）was different in my grandpa's hometown many years ago.

    In the past, people cooked on a fire. They didn't have TVs or radios. There were no buses. They had to live in small houses. They didn't have enough food.

    Now, there are lots of buses and cars in Grandpa's hometown. They live in big houses or buildings. They cook with natural gas（天然气）and have lots of food. They can use mobile phones（手机）. They even have computers and use the Internet.

    Every year thousands of people get hurt or die in road accidents(事故). How can we make the roads safer? First we must follow the traffic rules. If everybody follows the rules, the roads will be much safer. In our country traffic keeps on the right side of the road. Second, we must stop and look both ways before crossing the road. Look left, Look right, and then look left again. Then, if we are sure that the road is clear, we can cross the road. Third, it is good to help children, old people or blind people to cross the road. Last, we must never play in the Street.

   I'm Jim. I   1  agood friend. His name is Tom. He is twelve   2old.He is 1.55 metres tall. We are in the   3   school.Tom lives far from school. He goes to school by bicycle. He often   4  lunchat school. He likes dumplings and meat .But his favourite food is chicken. Hisfavourite schoolwork is to read books. And he likes   5  basketballwith me after school.

    On Sunday morning, Mr. Baker takes Mike and Joan to a plane to fly home. He opens the door of the plane and lets the children in. Soon the plane begins to up. Joan looks out of the window, "Oh, we're like birds in the sky!" She says. She looks at the houses, but they are like toy houses. Mike looks out of the window, too. He sees some buses. They look like toy buses. The people on the ground look very, very small, too. Then the plane comes down and down, and stops on the ground. Mike and Joan are very happy.

    Tim is fat. He doesn't like sport. He likes watching TV at home.

    Ellen is his friend. She is strong and healthy. She often dances and plays badminton at weekends.

    One day, Ellen and Tim are having lunch.

    "What do you like eating?" asks Ellen.

    "I like eating pizzas, hamburgers and French fries. And I like drinking cola very much," says Tim.

    "Oh, that's bad for your health. I like eating rice, fruit and vegetables. And I have some milk every day. I never drink soft drinks," says Ellen, "You should eat healthy food. You will (将会) be healthy and strong."

   "OK, I will," says Tim.
