"You don't understand me!” I shouted. Then I ran out of the door and got on a bus. I didn't know 1 it was going. I just want to get away from home as  2 as I could. I couldn't 3 what had just happened to me. My mother, the person I believe in, had just read all of my 4 from my close friends! It shouldn't have happened to me. She read my letters and told me not to write to   5 any more! I couldn't 6 the tears from falling when I thought about this. Later that day, I went to my close 7 house.   8 my friend gave me a cup of water, the phone rang. “It's your mother,” she spoke to me in a low  9. “Tell her that I'm not here!” I replied. However my mother heard it. “Tell her not to leave! I'll be right there!” Then she rang up the phone 10 a goodbye. In fact, I should say that I was a little 11 I couldn't imagine(想象) what would happen. But to my 12, when my mother arrived, “sorry” was the first word she 13 to me. Her 14 told me that she had been crying and her voice told me that she was really tired. “will you forgive(原谅) me?” at last she asked. I didn't know what to say. I just 15 her, and gave her a hug(拥抱). She held me so tightly. You know, at that time, I felt so warm. I really love you, Mum!

    Tom woke up on Monday morning, he felt 1. He always felt sick on Monday morning. He had to go to school for five 2 every week! He almost wished there were no weekends. 3 was even more difficult for him to go back to school!

    He 4 in bed and wondered what excuse he could make this time. He looked at his body, but could find 5 wrong. A little headache? 6. He had used that excuse many times. Then he realized that one of his teeth was loose(松动). Good! He was just going to start groaning（呻吟）7 he thought that Aunt Polly would pull the tooth out. That would 8! He looked for something else. Suddenly he remembered what the doctor had said about a certain problem with his toes（脚趾）. He pulled his right foot out and looked at it. 9 of the toes was really hurting. Tom began to groan.

    "What is 10 with you?" Aunt Polly asked.

    "My toe hurts."

    The old lady fell into the chair, 11 a little, "Tom, you frighten me. Now shut up at once and get out of 12."

    Tom felt like a thief being caught. "Well, it seems all right. It hurts so much 13 I forgot my teeth. One of them loses and it hurts 14."

    "No problem," answered Aunt Polly. "I can pull it out."

    "Please, Auntie! Don't pull it out. It has15 hurting. Please!"

    "No way! Well, you will have your tooth out or you will go to school."

    One day a lion met a spider, who was just busy making a web. The lion 1 for a while and said, "How clever you are! How did you learn to do that?" The spider answered proudly, "I learned it from my mother."

    The lion watched a longer while. Then he asked the spider, "But why don't you catch your food in the way that I do?"

    "I am just a 2 animal," the spider replied. "I cannot run fast or fly. 3 with my web I can catch flying insects, and I don't even have to run after them."

    The lion then asked, "Could you make a 4 for me? Then I would not have to run after animals either."

    "Sorry," the spider said. "My web can only catch flying insects. But you cannot love 5 them."

    The lion was angry with the spider. She did not have to work 6 for food. And she would not help him get his 7. So he hit the web and broke it. But the spider jumped 8 the lion's back and bit him.

    "Now you will 9 me," said the spider as she jumped into the grass. "Think carefully 10 you do something bad to other animals. Some of us may be small, but we are very smart."

    The lion tried to scratch his back, but he could not reach where the spider bit. It itched(发痒)for several days. He remembered the smart spider for a long time.

    Have you ever eaten a dandelion(蒲公英)? Me neither. Have you ever blown it to make a wish? Me, too.

    "Time to pick dandelions, Athena, "Mum opened the car door and I entered with a1. My hometown is in Greece(希腊), where dandelions are 2on the menu. But I didn't eat dandelions. Why did I have to 3them with my family every spring?

    Then I said goodbye to my new friend Brigid, whose family had 4moved in our neighborhood in New York. I was 5Brigid didn't ask where we were going. Nobody in America ate dandelions. I always worried that 6would notice us picking dandelions.

    We 7into a wild field. Hundreds of lively yellow flowers appeared everywhere. Then we stopped our car. Dad went over to cut dandelions and put them in his bag. But I just hid in the book. "8do we cat dandelions? "I asked. "The best food in the world. "Dad answered, shaking a handful of greens. 9we were ready to leave, we had enough dandelions. On the way home, Mum and Dad talked about hosting a dinner party for the new neighbors to try our 10Greek food.

    The night of the party, Brigid arrived with her parents. Mum served 11different. Greek foods. Our guests ate everything. Finally came the dandelions. "Wait! " I said to Brigid. But it was too 12. "You ate the dandelions! "I told her. We both 13, and she ate another bite. "  14, "she said.

Mum was smiling at us. After dinner. Brigid and I went to the backyard and lay on the grass. The stars reminded me of dandelions in the soft field. I closed my eyes and made a 15: to be as open-minded as my family and my new friend.

    There was an island where all the feelings lived. One day, the island would sink, so they1the island quickly. But Love decided to stay. When the island was sinking, Love asked2help.

    Love asked Richness, "Can you bring me with you?" Richness answered, "No. There is a lot of gold in my boat. There is no3for you. "

    Love asked Vanity(虚荣), "Vanity, please help me!" "I can't help you, Love. You are all wet and might make my boat4" Vanity answered.

    Love asked5, "Please let me go with you." "Oh, I am6sad that I need to be alone!"

    Happiness passed by, but she was too7to hear Love's voice!

    Suddenly, there was a voice, "Love, I will take you." It was an elder. Love felt so excited that he8to ask his name.

    When they arrived at a safe place, the elder9Love asked Knowledge, "Who helped me?"

    "It was Time," Knowledge answered. "But10did Time help me?" Knowledge smiled and answered, "Because only Time can understand how great you are."
