Mrs. Green is going to hold a birthday party for Mary. Mary is her daughter. She is going to be thirteen years old. Mary's friends are going to come to the party. They are all girls.

    Mrs. Green is getting ready for the party. Mrs. White is helping her.

    "That's a nice cake," says Mrs. White.

    "Thank you very much," says Mrs. Green.

   Mrs. Green is going shopping now. She's buying fruit for the party. She buys a lot of pears, apples, oranges and bananas. Then she goes home.

    It's three o'clock in the afternoon. Now the first girl comes, then another. The party is going to start after thirty minutes.

    In order to safeguard(保证) the education of all Hope Chinese School (HCS) students and the normal running of the school, the following rules should be followed:

  ★ Be quiet in classroom and hallways. Do not run or shout in classrooms or hallways.

  ★ Do not drink or eat in classrooms or hallways.

  ★ Stay in the school during school time as well as rest time. Do not leave the school or play out of the school area during school time. This includes rest time.

  ★ Do not scribble on any desks or walls.

  ★ Be respectful(尊敬) to teachers and parents.

  ★ Help teachers and other students to keep the classroom clean. Do not move desks, chairs, and other furniture in the classroom without the teacher's instructions.

    What do we do when we go camping? First, we think of a plan. We take food, clothes, a knife, and things for cooking and eating. We take things to keep us away from insects(昆虫) and the sun. Then we put everything into the car and we drive to the woods. We look for a place for campers (露营者) and we look for a good place for our tent(帐篷). The place should have a lot of air. This will keep some insects away. High land with water on both sides of it is good. Then we put up our tent. We put everything into the tent, and we are ready for fun. We can swim in the lake, walk in the woods, climb a mountain, row a boat, or go fishing. In the evening we come back to the tent, we build a big fire because it can keep the insects away. We sit around the fire and talk. We may tell interesting stories or we may sing songs. At night we lie down on the grass. We can look up at the stars. It is a busy day, so we try to go to sleep early. Everything is dark. Everything is quiet. We hope we won't hear music from the radio in the next tent. We hope it won't rain.
