On Christmas Eve, the evening before Christmas Day, children always put a stocking(长筒袜) at the end of their beds. Their parents often tell them that Santa will bring gifts for the good children. When the children sleep in their beds, Santa will climb down the chimney(烟囱)into the house and fill the stockings with Christmas gifts.

    In fact, children's fathers will put on red hats and red clothes. They will put the gifts into the stockings or under the Christmas trees.

    Many animals live here. They are friends. They play together and help each other.

    Mr Lion lives at No. 12, Tree Street. There is a bakery near his home. He likes eating bread. It's five yuan.

    Miss Cat's home is at No. 23, Grass Street. Miss Rabbit's home is next to Miss Cat's home. They are small. They like eating food. A bowl of noodles is four yuan and one packet of sweets is five yuan.

    Mr Monkey and Mr Horse live on Tree Street too. Mr Monkey's home is next to Animal School. Mr Horse's home is near the post office.

    Kally, Danny and Kitty are in the toy shop. There are many toys in the shop. They are toy bears, masks, puzzles, balls, robots and dolls. The toy bear can play the drum! It's funny! Kally has gotten dollars(美元). Danny has got eleven dollars. Kitty has got twenty-five dollars. They like the robot very much. It can walk and sing. It's super! The robot is fifty-eight dollars. The mask is cheap. It's only three dollars.

    There is a big old tree near my house. A black bird lives in the tree. Every day I take some food to the tree. The bird sees me and comes down. The food is in my hand. The bird comes to my hand and eats the food. After that it goes back to the tree.

    I give some food to this bird every day. And so the bird knows me. I like the bird and the bird likes me. We are good friends.

    There is a tall tree in front of my house. I love it very much. When spring comes, the thick leaves make the tree beautiful and lively. And in summer, my parents and I often sit under the big tree and enjoy the cool air.

    But when autumn comes, the leaves will tum yellow, and fall from the tree. And then, it stands there in the cold wind alone. I am sad, too.

    Mother tells me the tree will grow bigger and taller in the coming spring. I feel happy again.
