Many people know that rubbish is a big problem on planet Earth. What many people don't know is that junk (垃圾) has become a problem in outer space too.

    According to BBC News, there are more than 22, 000 pieces of space junk floating around the earth. Andtheseare just the things that we can see from the surface of the earth by telescopes (望远镜). There are also millions of smaller pieces of junk that we can't see.

    Objects, like bits of old space rockets or satellites, move around the planet at very high speeds, so fast that even a very small piece can break important satellites or become dangerous to astronauts. If the tiniest piece of junk crashed into a spaceship, it could damage the vehicle.

    To make things worse, when two objects in space crash, they break into many smaller pieces. For example, when a U. S. satellite hit an old Russian rocket in 2009, it broke into more than 2,000 pieces, increasing the amount of space junk.

    To reduce additional space junk, countries have agreed that all new space tools can only stay in space for 25 years at most. Each tool must be built to fall safely into the earth's atmosphere after that time. In the upper parts of the atmosphere, it will burn up.

    Many scientists are also suggesting different ways to clean up space junk. In England scientists are testing a metal net that can be fired into space junk. The net catches the junk and then pulls it into the earth's atmosphere to burn up. The Germans are building robots that can collect pieces of space junk and bring them back to Earth to be safely destroyed.

    "The problem is becoming more challenging because we're sending more objects into space to help people use their mobile phones and computers," says Marco Castronuovo, an Italian space researcher.

    "The time to act is now. The longer we leave the problem, the bigger it will become," he says.

Living next to next is the principle(原则) of a neighbor. Good neighborliness is the ideal to be aimed at. As the saying goes, no man is an island; he has to live with his neighbors. To make life easy and pleasant, he must cooperate with his neighbors. 

Whether one likes it or not, one cannot do without neighbors. The sympathy (同情), admiration and appreciation which a neighbor may offer will have a great humanizing influence. To share one's view and sometimes even sadness, one needs some neighbors. 

But all neighbors are not always keeping the friendly relationship. Stresses and tension(紧张) develop because of misunderstanding. Very often children may be the cause for tense feelings. The neighbor's son may pick a flower or a fruit from your garden and an argument may follow. Again he may throw his ball at your window breaking it. This may read easy on paper but not so in real life. But being broad-minded, one must be able to tolerate(容忍). Another reason for tension may be the animals. Your neighbor's dog may be a real trouble or his chickens would come into your garden and eat away your plants. 

In all these cases to keep up good neighborliness, some understanding between the neighbors is important. Small differences can be easily patched up or solved. Try to be friendly and the problem will not be difficult to solve. Nobody is perfect and it is better not to speak ill of your neighbors. A cheerful word, a nod or a small talk will strengthen the feeling of good neighborliness. 

International Women's Day is on March 8 every year. On this day, people celebrate the achievements of women all over the world and continue to fight for basic rights (权利) for women.

How did it start? 

In 1908, women in New York City wanted the right to vote. They also hoped to acquire shorter working hours and better pay. Then, in 1910 in Denmark, a woman called Clara Zetkin had the idea for an international day for women. The first International Women's Day happened the next year.

Why do we need a special day for women? 

In many countries, men get higher pay than women for doing the same job. Men get a better education and better health care, and do less work at home. Men also get better chances than women to get their jobs. We need a change for women so that women can have the same chances as men.

How is International Women's Day celebrated? 

People usually celebrate by remembering important women in history, like Emmeline Pankhurst, Rosa Parks, Marie Curie...It's a very long list! They made great achievements in their fields.

People also have special events to celebrate it. In some countries, boys and men celebrate this day, too!

⒈learn about an important girl or woman in your country (for example, in sports, science or history) and tell your classmates about her；

⒉ask your teacher if you can do a class project about this day.

 Boys and girls, what sport do you like? Do you like skiing(滑雪)?I can't do it. It looks very difficult! Do you know Gu Eileen? She is a great ski player. Her father is American and her mother is Chinese.

 Now she is 20 years old. Why does she look beautiful and strong? First, she thinks good eating habits help her to be healthy. For breakfast, she likes eggs and milk. She has vegetables and chicken for lunch. For dinner, she likes salad and fish. Beijing duck is her favorite food but she doesn't eat too much. Second, when all her classes finish from Monday to Friday at school, she must do more sports.

 Gu wins two gold medals(奖牌) in the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics(冬奥会). Now, she is a big star in China and in the world.

Poverty（贫穷）is a big problem in the world, but China has done a good job to deal with it and made the proud achievement. During fighting poverty, we've been moved by many heroes. 

Li Ming is a student in Grade 7. He likes all the subjects. But geography is difficult for him. He wants to learn it well, but he doesn't know what to do. He is very worried. 

Wu Fang is his geography teacher. She is kind to her students. She wants to help him with his geography. One day, she came to Li Ming's desk and asked, "Hi, Li Ming. Where are you from?""I'm from Sichuan, Ms Wu. ""Oh, Sichuan is a nice place! Where is Mount Emei? Where does the Jialing River start?"

"I'm sorry, Ms Wu. I don't know, " Li Ming said. "Do you want to know?" Ms Wu asked.

From then on, with the help of Ms Wu, Li Ming learned geography hard. And now, he can always get good grades(成绩) in geography.
