If you really want to get to know someone, travel with them. The following are some suggestions given by some people who have successfully traveled with friends.
Talk money ahead of time.
When you're traveling with friends, the topic of money will certainly come up. Talking about expenses early on will help your friends understand what can be done and what can't be done.
Create a group itinerary (行程表).
When traveling in a group, a lot of time can be wasted trying to figure out what to do once you get there—if this hasn't been discussed ahead of time. Have everyone write down what they'd like to accomplish on the trip before departure.
Choose a trip leader.
If you'll be traveling in a group with many friends, it can be hard to keep everyone motivated. He or she can set departure times and let everyone know the basic plan.
Once you've nominated (任命) a leader, using a travel folder to collect all tickets, maps and other important documents can help streamline the process of group travel, as well.
Power down.
Nothing is more likely to cause unhappiness than when one person is trying to have a conversation with someone who's busy showing off the trip on social media. If you spend the time with your face buried in your phone, your companions will rightly think your phone is more interesting than their company.
A. Set specific free time.
B. Gather your important documents.
C. Be open about expenses before even booking the tickets.
D. A leader can be the key decision maker of the group for the trip.
E. This wish list will let everyone feel their desires have been heard.
F. If you do decide to split up, use a communication app to stay in touch.
G. Put all social media activity on hold, and live in the moment with your friends.
In our daily life, we have developed a lot of habits, such as, eating habit, study habit, reading habit, etc. However, taking the time to develop a sleep habit is probably the last thing on your mind and some sleep advice simply can't be forgotten. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}.
Watching TV until you fall asleep
It has nothing to do with what you watch —TV news isn't a better pre-sleep choice than TV series. {#blank#}2{#/blank#}. The bright light keeps you awake all the night. So even if you nod off (in front of the TV, for example), you probably won't stay asleep for long.
Sleeping with pets
{#blank#}3{#/blank#}. They get comfortable, and then they move. This goes on all night, and whether you admit it or not, it interrupts your ability to get the level of sleep needed to feel rested.
Eating fatty, heavy foods too close to bedtime
Heartburn (烧心,胃痛) strikes anyone of any age, but it's the most common GI disorder (胃肠失调) in older adults. If you've ever tried to go to sleep after eating a fatty meal, you've probably found the discomfort of stomach preventing you from falling asleep or staying asleep.
{#blank#}4{#/blank#}
Remember how poorly you sleep when you have a fever—turning over and over again, never really feeling rested? Well, heavy exercise too close to bedtime has the same effect — it raises your body temperature so that your sleep is disturbed until your body temperature drops to normal, which may take several hours.
Accepting snoring (打呼噜) as normal sleep behavior
Snoring may seem as common as breathing, but it's considered the biggest sleep killer, and it's linked to several causes: sleeping on your back, being overweight, having a cold, drinking, or taking drugs. {#blank#}5{#/blank#}. For the snorer, it disturbs sleep by awakening him/her every so often in order to breathe normally. For the partner, the noise can be unbearable.
A. Exercising heavily too close to bedtime B. Here are some bad habits you need to get rid of C. Most seriously, it's caused by a dangerous illness D. Here are some suggestions you'll need to follow E. Pets sleep most of the day, and they move a lot when sleeping F. Reducing your body temperature before bedtime G. Rather it's the TV's bright light that is the criminal |
Winter is a really fun time of the year—it's great to have snowball fights and build snowmen. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} When it's cold outside and you're not prepared, you can feel uncomfortable. Lucky for you, learning how to stay safe is not difficult.
{#blank#}2{#/blank#}Wearing thick clothes is the best way to stay warm in the cold. Depending on where you live and how cold it is, some kids may need more clothes, some less.
Take that hat. You maybe wear a large overcoat and ready to go, but are you forgetting something?{#blank#}3{#/blank#}You'll stay much warmer with a hat than without one—tons of body heat escapes right from your head.
Drink up. Sounds like advice for hot weather, not cold weather, right?{#blank#}4{#/blank#}When you're outside in the cold and breathing hard, your body loses a lot of water through your breath. And the best way to get that water back is to drink up!
Take it easy. Sometimes if you're out having fun, it's easy to forget to pay attention to your body. But if your body temperature drops even 4 or 5 degrees while you're outside, it can make you feel terrible.{#blank#}5{#/blank#}And if you ever feel weak, those are signs that you have to take it easy indoors for a while.
A. Have a snowball fight. B. Pull a hat onto your head. C. Well, the truth is that it's good advice for both kinds of weather. D. Love those clothes. E. But you have to know how to be safe while you're out having fun. F. You can stay outside as long as possible to fully enjoy your snow days. G. That's why you need to be careful with your body's signals. |
