Things only people who have worked overseas can understand
If you have ever worked or lived overseas, I'm pretty sure you can understand the following things!
We do not automatically become fluent (流利的) in another language. A lot of people believe that changing your geographic location can improve your language learning skills quickly. Language application takes time and has a number of factors that play into a person's level of fluency.
We feel extremely lonely at times. Yes, living abroad can be wonderful. Sometimes, we think that no one back at home understands our true feelings and life challenges, but a lot of other people travel long term and work abroad. Maybe they are not facing the same problems as you, but they know exactly how you feel.
We don't really like our birthdays. Usually, your special day ends with the last phone call you get from home and then you can look through all your greetings on social media. You may throw a small party with some of your new friends, but it's going to be nothing compared with the goodold feasts you used to have with your loved ones back at home.
Too often we simply can't tell you if we will be coming home for holidays this season. Sometimes, our working/living permits require us to stay in the country for at least a year. Adding up the flight costs and additional travel expenses, traveling home becomes quite a challenge for us.
We will change. You become more mature, independent and openminded. Usually, you return home as a better person than the one you left as.

Bullying (欺凌) is a problem in many schools. Maybe lots of you have ever come across school bullies. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}
Ignore the bully and walk away. It's definitely not a coward's response. Sometimes it can be harder than losing your temper. Walk tall and hold your head high. {#blank#}2{#/blank#}
Hold the anger. Who doesn't get really upset with a bully? {#blank#}3{#/blank#} Bullies want to know they have control over your emotions. Work out your anger in other ways, such as through exercise or writing it down.
{#blank#}4{#/blank#} However you choose to deal with a bully, don't use physical force. Not only are you showing your anger, but you can never be sure what the bully will do in response. You are more likely to be hurt and get into trouble if you use violence against a bully. You can stand up for yourself in other ways, such as gaining control of the situation by walking away.
Talk about it. It may help to talk to a guidance advisor, teacher, or friend. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} Talking can be a good outlet for the fears and frustrations that can build when you're being bullied.

Life can be a lonely thing without friends. Acquaintances (熟人) are easy to come by but true friends are a whole other story. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} Learn these four steps if you'd like to be a true friend that can be relied on.
●Be present for their highs and lows.
If you're absent during my struggle, don't expect to be present during my success.
(Will Smith)
It's easy to be there for our friends when they ask us out for fun things. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} You might not feel comfortable while spending time with an emotionally weak person on the verge of tears, but true friends are always there when they're needed the most.
●{#blank#}3{#/blank#}
When people talk, listen completely. Most people never listen.
(Ernest Hemingway)
Give your friends the gift of silence so they can drop their baggage and get on with living.
●Accept them as they are.
Happiness can exist only in acceptance.
(George Orwell)
If you can't accept people as they are, you will never know the feeling of true friendship. {#blank#}4{#/blank#}

Holding onto anger is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die.
(Buddha)
{#blank#}5{#/blank#} If so, you should understand that even the best of us suffer from the occasional slip of the tongue. Holding onto anger over a small mistake will make you look petty (小气的), so let it go.
