    Last Thursday， I traveled on the 8：00 a.m. train from Glasgow to London King's Cross and I was quite angry with the service of your company.

    The train didn't come on time and it was forty minutes late when it left Glasgow. A man at  the station said sorry to us， but he didn't give us any reasons for the delay(误点) . We then had further delays on the way and had to wait another thirty minutes. As a result， I missed my plane from London to Frankfurt and had to wait for several hours.

What's more， the service on the train was also very poor， The trip took more than five hours. Unluckily， we could buy nothing but some soft drinks on the train. Worst of all， something was wrong with the air conditioning ( 空调系统) and it got hotter and hotter in the train. Before we reached King's Cross， the temperature was over 40℃.

    Because of your poor service， I feel you should pay me compensation(赔偿).

    We will have the picnic in Yingze Park. You know where it is, don't you? You can take the No. 6 bus to the park. After you go into the park, walk straight on for about five minutes until you come to a small but clean river. There is a bridge over it. Go across the bridge and turn left. After walking for ten minutes, you will come to a hill. Walk to the other side (边) of the hill and you will see a lake (湖). We will have the picnic by the lake.

    I'm sure you will find us easily. Don't forget (忘记) the time.

Have you ever kept animals by yourself at home? Even though my family lives in the 1 , our backyard is like a farm as three chickens are living there!

I still remember the day when I bought our chickens at a feed store when they were just chicks. We named 2 Sleepy, Twinkle, and Scott. Sleepy got her name 3 she always fell asleep in our hands.

At first, the chicks had to 4 in a box with a heat lamp to keep warm. Soon they were ready to move out. Believe it or not, our dog, Trixie, is so 5 to the chickens that she even lets them eat her dog bones! Once a coyote (郊狼) showed up behind our house. Trixie barked to keep the chickens 6 .

Our chickens depend on us to 7 them. We keep their coop (笼子) clean and fill their nesting boxes with soft bedding. In summer, we hang a screen on their coop to keep 8 the hot sun. We feed the chickens corn pellets every afternoon, but they 9 eat pebbles (鹅卵石)—They don't have teeth and eating pebbles helps them grind up their food. How interesting it is!

There were many famous inventors and scientists in history. You must have heard about a lot of them and known them well. But you may not know Nikola Tesla. 

Nikola Tesla and his inventions were well- known to people in the area of science and electricity, but not quite known to the general public today. Nikola Tesla was a Serbian- born inventor, who later moved to the US. He was most well- known for his inventions in the area of electricity and electrical engineering. He was considered one of the greatest electrical engineers in history. 

Why was Nikola Tesla not well- known while others in his time became so famous to the public? Some said Nikola Tesla failed to make the right business decisions. Others said it was because of his "mad scientist" qualities (特质) — the same qualities that helped him come up with some of his best ideas. His qualities led him to many strange ideas. Towards his last years, he came up with many ideas that seemed unacceptable to the public at that time. He worked very hard on them, which made people think he was mad. 

Many of Tesla's inventions and patents (专利) didn't end up being used in the exact way he had planned for them. Some of those include his high- frequency lighting ideas, wireless power and the free energy receiver.

Some time later，Mary returned. She saw her husband sitting on the floor，with no hair and a 14 face，and shouted. "My poor Max! What happened? "
