Tina graduated from college. Several days later, she got a new job. She would work in the biggest company(公司)in her city. Her friends admired her very much.

    On her first workday, Tina arrived at 8:45 a. m. She took the lift to the 11th floor(楼层), and a clerk showed her where her desk was. As a green hand, she didn't know what to do, so she tried to talk to the girls who sat near her in the office. However, they were not friendly to her. After a while, a young boss came in. Tina was surprised that the boss was not the old man who interviewed her several days ago. The boss gave her a lot of reports to write. But when she began to write, she found that she had much trouble understanding the reports. She spent almost the whole day trying to do the work. At5:30pm., it was time to go home. Although most of the reports weren't finished, she got into the lift. On the 10th floor, she was greeted by John, the old man who interviewed her several days ago. "Tina!" He said, "Why didn't you work with us today?" All of a sudden, Tina realized she mistook the 11th floor for the 10th floor. "Oh, my God!" She answered, "     " After hearing this, John couldn't help laughing.

    One day, 100 people were attending a speech. The speaker was making a speech about happiness. However, after a few hours, people began to lose their attention. The speaker thought of an idea. He stopped his speech and asked all of the people to take part in a group activity.

    He gave each person a balloon in the room. Each person was asked to write his or her name on the balloon with a black marker (记号笔). Then, all of the balloons were collected and moved to another room.

The 100 people were then let into the room and told to find the balloon with their own name

    Everyone rushed around, crazily searching for their own balloon. People were bumping into and tripping (绊倒) over each other.

But after about five minutes of searching, no one could find their own balloon.

    After seeing this, the speaker asked each person to collect a balloon and try to find the person, whose name was written on it. Everyone started talking to each other and asking each other for their name. In just a few minutes, everyone had his or her own balloon.

    "Can you see what happened?" the speaker said. "The balloons are like the happiness we look for in our own lives. Everyone is busy looking for their own happiness, not caring what happens to others. But sometimes the best way to find happiness is to help others. Help them find happiness and you can find your own."

Danald Stawd, a nice vet(兽医) in San Diego, had experienced defeat in his job. The animal 1 where he worked was crowded with abandoned(被遗弃的) pets,2 owners were struggling to fight with their income going down. So they had no3 to take care of these tiny creatures. In those days, animals 4 be euthanized(安乐死) if nobody wanted them in 7 days. This situation troubled Stawd, even leading him to consider 5 his job.

For Stawd, the most meaningful part of his work 13 the one-on-one connections with the homeless. By14 helping their loved pets, Stawd helps rebuild their15 in humanity(人性), offering hope to those in trouble.
