    Welcome to Maxwell's superstore. Maxwell's superstore is the largest store in the town. You may find everything you want in the store. Women's wear and children's wear are on the first floor. Men's wear and sporting goods are on the second floor. On the third floor are the electrical goods and furniture. On the fourth floor are travelling goods and books. Toys are on the fifth floor. There is only a restaurant on the top floor, the sixth floor. On each floor there is a cash desk. You may pay at any of them. There is a large parking lot behind the store, which can hold 200 cars at the same time.

    Hello, boys and girls. My name is Li Jing. I am thirteen years old. I think as students, we should work hard at school on weekdays. So I always study hard when I am at school, but on my day off(放假) I often do something else to relax myself.

    I had a very relaxing day off. In the morning, I got up at seven o'clock. Then I went to run with my father. I think we need to exercise every day. After running, I took a shower and had breakfast. At nine o'clock, I went to the zoo with my friends. We saw some pandas and lions there. Pandas are cute and lions are scary. In the shop, we bought many gifts. We had great fun there.

    In the afternoon, my parents took me to see my grandparents. They live in the beautiful countryside. They were very happy to see me. I talked with my grandfather for long and he told me many interesting things about him. My grandmother cooked lots of delicious food for us.

    In the evening, I watched TV with my cousins. We watched an exciting basketball match. We were glad when we saw our favorite team in the match.

    What a happy day off I had! I hope all of you can have an interesting day off!

    I'm an English teacher and I often volunteer to teach kids English in the countryside or poor areas. These experiences have left me so many sweet memories.①

    Once I came to volunteer at a school in the southwest of China. The day before I left, I read Dr. Seuss' Happy Birthday to you to my students in class. It was just my birthday that day. When we got to the part about the birthday horn (号角) — you can play it to make everyone know it's your birthday — I made a joke about how I would like a birthday horn as well. During the afternoon break(课间) that day, all the students in my class got together and made me a horn out of paper.而且他们把他们的名字和心愿都写在了上面。②When I got back into the classroom, they presented it to me with great pride. It was a surprising but sweet present for me. I brought the horn back home and hung (悬挂) it on the wall in my bedroom. It always reminds me of those lovely kids.

    Young children don't have the skills or knowledge to stay safe in heavy traffic. Your children will follow you and think it's OK to do like you. Teach your children to pay attention to traffic lights {#blank#}2{#/blank#} This helps them understand when it's safe to cross. Make sure that you walk between your children and the traffic, and hold their hands all the time.

    Ask your children to play in a safe place. Never let them ride bikes on the road without an adult present at rush hour.

    The most important thing you can do is {#blank#}4{#/blank#} so parents encourage them to follow traffic rules. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} they'll volunteer to obey them. In this way, they'll be careful enough to keep themselves away from danger.
