Mobile phone has become a problem for middle schools. Some middle schools in Australia have banned students from carrying mobile phones during school hours.
Mobile phone use among children has become a problem for the school this year. Several children have got mobile phones as Christmas gifts, and more students will want them.
Mary Bluett, an official, said mobile phone's use is a distraction to students during school hours and it also gives teachers so much trouble in their classrooms. Teachers were also saying that sometimes students might use phone messages to cheat during exams.
She said some schools had tried to ban mobile phones. Some parents felt unhappy because they couldn't get in touch with their children.
Many teachers said students should not have mobile phones at school, but if there was a good reason, they could leave their phones at school office. They also said there were many reasons why the students should not have mobile phones at school: they were easy to lose and were a distraction(分散注意力) from studies.

Chen Zhe is a 36-year-old who was born in Anji county in Zhejiang Province. He never imagined that one day he would return to his hometown to start a business that makes use of classic cartoon characters from the films produced by the Shanghai Animation (动画) Film Studio (电影制片厂).

Chen's coffee shop Mei@Yucun opened in March in Anji's Yucun village. A number of 1. 7-meter-high models of cartoon characters from cartoons like The Monkey King: Uproar in Heaven and the Calabash Brothers, stand in front of the store. Models of cartoon characters also fill the coffee shop, which sells around 100 cultural and creative products based on the cartoons. "The characters are from classic cartoons made by the studio. It may be their debut in a countryside coffee shop." he said. +-

In 2022, Yucun village started the international partners program to encourage young people to take part in village life. Around 1, 100 young people have taken part in the program, introducing new forms of business. In 2022, Yucun village made 13 million yuan in total.

"As more people began to visit Yucun village, I decided to open a coffee shop here at first," said Chen. " ★ I wanted to bring coffee and cartoon characters to the village, to add color and energy to the countryside. Because of their love of Chinese animations, people's attention is caught easily. They are reminded of their childhood, when they could enjoy cartoons and be happy."

Learning about the environment is very important. There are many good books that will help you learn. To get started, ask your teacher or a librarian for some suggestions. You can also look at some good websites with information about the environment and climate change. Climate change may be a big problem, but there are many little things we can do to make a difference.

Driving a car or using electricity is not wrong. We just have to be smart about it. Some people use less energy by carpooling. For example,four people can ride together in one car instead of driving four cars to work. Whenever we use electricity, we put greenhouse gases into the air. By turning offlights, the television and the computer when they aren't needed, you can help a lot.

Don't buy products that use too much energy. Some products, like certain cars, are made specially to save energy. These don't pollute as much, either. Products like computers, TVs, and VCRs with the ENERGY STAR label(标签)R are made to save energy. Buying products with these labels will help protect the environment.

Buy recyclable products instead of (代替) non-recyclable ones. Recyclable products are usually made out of things that have already been used. It usually takes less energy to make recyclable products than to make new ones. So when you go shopping, look for the recycle mark on the package—three arrows that make a circle. The less energy we use, the better.

A serious earthquake can be a terrible experience, and it is easy to forget safety rules in disorder(混乱). Fortunately, most earthquake safety rules are common sense, but if you forget everything, remember the following instructions: drop, cover, and hold on. Also, most of earthquake deaths happen after the earthquake, so remember that the danger does not end when the shaking does!

If you stay indoors during an earthquake, move away from unsupported areas and windows. Try to get into a doorway or another area of the building which is held up by strong beams(梁). Stay under a table or a desk only if it is very strong. Do not rush to lifts, because it is far safer to stay where you are. Cover your head with your arms around it and curl(蜷缩) into a ball, and wait for the shaking to stop.

If you stay outdoors during an earthquake, move to an open area. Don't move to buildings, electric poles or other objects which may fall and hurt you during an earthquake. Protect your head and stay low to the ground till the shaking ends and it is safe to move.

After an earthquake, many buildings are less strong, although they appear safe. If you stay indoors, move people from the building quickly and help the disabled or people who get hurt. Once outdoors, move away from the building so that if it falls down, you will not be hurt. Wait till public safety officials tell you that it is safe to stay indoors. By planning ahead and keeping calm during an earthquake, you can greatly increase your chances of survival without getting hurt.
