Sally's school

In the past

    Sally's school was small ten years ago. There were only ten classrooms and twelve teachers. The playground was small and there weren't any trees around it. The library was small too. There weren't many books or magazines in it. There wasn't a garden.

In the future

    There will be a big garden. Students will grow plants in it. Students will have more PE lessons. They will do more exercise. Students will carry small computers to school. They will study online.

Now

    Sally's school is big. The playground is big. Students can run and play there. The library is big and new. Students can read all kinds of books in it. There is a garden. But it is very small.

    Tom is seven years old. He goes to school every day. The school is far from his home. So he goes there by taxi and comes back home on time (准时). But today he is late. His mother asks him, “Why are you late today?” “I am in the headmaster's (校长)office. ” “Why do you go to the headmaster's office?” “Because my teacher asks us a question in class, and nobody (没人) can answer it, but I can. ” “It's good to answer the teacher's questions.”“But the question is 'Who puts glue on my chair?'"

I'm Jack. In my classroom, Tom's desk is next to John's desk. John's desk is in front of Wu Binbin's desk and Tom's desk is in front of my desk. Zhang Peng's and Amy's desks are behind our desks. Zhang Peng's desk is behind my desk and Amy's desk is behind Wu Binbin's desk.

Dear Xiaohong,

    I'd like to invite you to my birthday party at my home. It's next Saturday, March 10th. My friends will come together and have fun on this special day. We will sing a birthday song. We will dance there. We will play hide and seek. We will eat a birthday cake. I hope you will enjoy this special day.

    The rhinoceros, often known as the rhino, is one of the world's largest animals. It is also one of the endangered animals. For many years people have hunted them for their horns.

    Today only five species of rhinos survive: the Black, the White, the Indian, the Javan and the Sumatran. They are found mainly in Africa and Southern Asia.

    Rhinos are plant-eating mammals. They eat tree bark, vines and grass. Rhinos have good hearing but poor eyesight. They sleep most of the day.

    Rhinos do not like humans. A rhinoceros can live for up to 60 years or more.
